I thought i knew alot about fish . But this guy has probably forgot more about fish in the last 24hrs than i know . What a set up you have some very nice species

It always amazes me how pristine the quality of the fish are.

Some guys hide their phones so their wife doesn't see what is in it and get mad. Rich hides goldfish in the pool lol Love his passion!

+Ohio Fish Rescue Whats the filtration of those big tanks? Whats the *nitrate* levels on these tanks and where are the fish wastes? I couldnt see a single fish waste in any tanks...whats your secret?

my discus is rubbing against some rocks and flicking its tails and fins rapidly sometimes, ammonia 0 , nitrite 0 and nitrate is 5ppm, temp is 28c, ph 7(also does this in ph 6.4) , could it be because of heavy metals found in tap water? I didnt use water conditioner yet, could it be bcoz of that or is it the temp?

ALWAYS USE WATER CONDITIONER WHEN DOING WATER CHANGES. The chlorine in tap water is bad for your fish and will hurt the beneficial bacteria in your system

I'm not a fish expert but I watch a lot of aquarium videos on youtube, and these are the healthiest looking fish I think I have seen on here.

I saw his back and hair and instantly knew it was Ohio Fish Rescue and Big Rich. He's such a great guy, and the facebook community he runs is pretty upstanding too.

This guy is a true hero! Can't wait to see the pool turn into a massive pond! AMAZING!!!!

It is nice to see someone who recognizes the "spirit" in living things. When fish overgrow the tank they are in, people can't give them away a lot of the time. And living in Ohio, dropping most of these fish into the local lake is a death sentence due to the cold. Fish are fun, but this is more than just feeding a hobby. This is being a purveyor of our humanity and demonstrating all life has a place in this world. Last week I donated a few bucks on your Go Fund Me, and I hope others can see beyond your "wicked" haircut and see the fine example of you "loving all creatures, big and small." Big Rich, if you ever read this, just know: Bless your heart, and your love and compassion for aquarium fish. It looks to me that all of the fish big and small in your care are happy, healthy and comfortable. It's people like you that give me some hope in knowing that there are still people out there who think of the care for the fish first, before the owner themselves. I work in a pet store and help manage our fish department, and for 4 long years I've seen some pretty large fish come and go, and tend to wonder if they're still in good hands up to this day. In the past I've seen some fish in pretty sad predicaments when it comes to improper housing, and we need more thoughtful people like you in the world to correct this wrong, and thank you for all that you do for the aquatic critters who can't help themselves. (:

Lol, he has tanks inside pools. He has such a big heart I’ve never really heard of fish rescues.

Big Rich seems like a real stand up kind of guy. The only thing bigger than his heart is his mullet.

I would say he should put a large sheet of plexi glass across the deep end of the pool, then the wife and soak in the shallow end and see the fish through the glass! So it would be like half a fish tank and half a pool.

This guy's an absolute Legend! Fish are healthy and well fed, and water looks pristine. Most people can't even keep a 10 gallon guppy tank looking this good.

Huge respect for his commitment he gives to all of these fish he rescues. Especially how he keeps the named ones. I did notice at 9:50 he said there is no south american cichlids, but there when there are convicts, firemouths, and a geophagus.

I was thinking the same thing, especially about my respect for the work he is doing, but the ctenopoma is definitely not a cichlid... Still, he's managing thousands of gallons of water. I lose track of what I have in just 9 tanks.

That was one of the most amazing things I've seen. I just want to be his friend and hang out there everyday. It's amazing gave me something to aspire towards. I want to go big one day. Gonna have to ease the wife into it. And it's going to take some time, but "GOALS!!!!!" for sure!!!
