He left UK to Build Nigeria's Most Beautiful Beach

He left UK to Build Nigeria's Most Beautiful Beach is another episode of my promoting Africa series where I feature black entrepreneurs all across Africa who have built successful businesses and they tell us how they did it.
Today's episode is Mr Paul who is a Nigerian entrepreneur who left London in the UK to start a beach & Lifestyle business in Nigeria. He has also built one of the biggest real estate beach fronts in West Africa. He tells us about how he was able to build his business in Lagos, Nigeria and some of the challenges he has faced on his entrepreneurial journey.

I dont understand why some Nigerians always have nothing but negative things to say. You guys dont realise what an amazing country you have. If I continued to watch western media, I would have missed out on all this. Thanks for bringing us a different picture of your country because we are all fed up of negative news about Africa. we need a balanced picture of the bad and good things there.

The agency you see in West Africa esp. Ghana and Nigeria is because a certain group of educated individuals in Ghana formed The Aborigines Rights Protection Association that fought hard to keep the lands out of the hands of the European powers including travelling to and arguing their case in the British Parliament and WINNING. Your ancestors did you in. They were too soft. Those lands were just taken without compensation. That's why you the current youth must not do the same mistake. Take what belongs to you. Right the wrong and don't give a fvck! about what anyone says. A wise man leaves an inheritance for his children and children's children. Don't fail the next generation. In Ghana people even take the government to court to take back lands earmarked as government land but been left unused.

@@somewhereinafrica7350 True and encouraging. What makes it more unfortunate for SA and maybe some parts of the SADC region is the level and quality of education, it does not speak to the identity of the region and thus mutes any opportunity to develop pride and ownership. The next generation of politics is taking that stance. It's just unfortunate that the majority of youth is just occupied by social trends to fall behind the movement with support. I am just hoping everyone else shines and thrives so we can use them as case studies and examples. I agree with you with regards to being radical and polarizing, time for diplomacy has long gone past.

Strategic move. You can do a lot remotely and while visiting before making the permanent move. First, try to have a small property. At least, you know you've knocked out house rent for life. Second, even if you don't have a business idea yet, register a generic name business idea. Your future biz idea names will be under the generic name. Third, open at least 3 biz bank accounts and know your bank relationship managers personally. GTB, Zenith, and First Bank are recommended. Their processes are easy. You don't need those relationship managers now but, you may need them in the future when you want to grow your ideas. Even if you have not executed anything through your company, at least years of the establishment will be running. Maybe you return in 10 years' time, you can boldly say your company has been existing for 10 years. You need that numbers for value and trust. Nobody easily entrusts big loans or contract into the hands of a 6-month old startup. Lastly, if you think your ideas may spread throughout Africa, in your free time, start building networks with other Africans living around you and study more about their countries especially Kenya & SA. Kenya is a good base to hit the East Africa market. South Africa to hit the Southern Africa market.

Congratulations brother. You are showing the way for many young Nigerians and others in other parts of Africa. Success doesn't come easily ,but only with strong passion, vision and hardwork. You have the qualities. Best wishes in the journey. Having associated with Nigeria for almost 15 years earlier,I see great future for your country.

Very impressive. Tayo I'm loving your content even more these days. Thank you for bringing us positivity about Nigeria. Most Nigerian youths are always negative about Nigeria and want to go live abroad. If this gentleman could overcome all the road blocks to build and establish this high quality business, then anything is possible in Nigeria.

Guys we need to ignore our curropt politicians and start by all means. The capita/fund will come. Keep it coming Tayo.
