The problem is really letting him resign. Because then nothing turns up on a background check. Even if they couldn't prove what he was doing they could've fired him for poor performance or something.

It seems weird that the hospital wouldn't be keeping records and detect an unusual spike in patient deaths. Hopital admins should hold some of the blame here.

My nursing class watched this movie, my teacher told me that he got rehired so much because the hospitals didn’t want a bad mark on their record. It was pretty shady in the 80’s (think it’s when this was going on).

Hospitals also needs to be charged. Instead of stopping him, they chose to fire him and help him unalive others.

The hospitals should be held accountable for covering up the murder spree

Nurses are in high demand, especially an experienced nurse. He could be moving city to city simply saying he moving to the area for family or the climate. Most employers only give duration of the job and don't disclose any disciplinary issues. And he was resigning, not getting fired in most of those.

Don't they do like a background check? Ask him why he left his last job? Why didn't they do that? Maybe they were desperate for new nurses.

Because most hospital units don't have cameras in patient rooms. They have them in special observation units, and a couple of others, but not everywhere...

It's nurse. Most hospital didn't even fire him, because firing somebody without solid proof might've been troublesome they just asked him to resign. He was working at most hospital for pretty long too so he had experience.
