    Took police over a week to catch the guy, who they knew where he was and was beyond a suspect. I’d say police get a B+ for this one(only cause there’s not much they could’ve done better)

Even if he wasn't officially diagnosed and treated for anything specific, doesn't mean that it didn't exist. He like so many men, probably just refused to acknowledge what he was going through.     It gets rid of fingerprints, blood spatter, and makes the crime scene chaotic. Doesn't get rid anything that identities the victims or who lived in the house. I'm not sure what his reasoning was, even if everything burned down, there would only be two identifiable bodies, and it would be obvious that he was the culprit.

    I think the psychological explanation here is, he went feral. It's in our instincts to basically just do whatever we want without being hindered by things such as laws, morals, or societal rules, but our humanity is what keeps us apart from and above such urges. And when you take the humanity out of a human, you're left with an animal.. An animal that knows how to use guns, and build things.. I'd honestly rather deal with a psychopath, than a feral human.. A psychopath has no moral compass, but they still have the intellectual capacity to understand societal rules and laws, which makes them a lesser of two evils in this situation.

PSYCHOPATHS just mean having a different mindset than a normal, ordinary human and not feeling emotions to an extent like love, compassion, kindness.
