To understand what is happening in Kai's "Mmmh" MV, you have to first understand EXO's concept and storyline. (Not only is Kai a superhero, but all the members of EXO literally have superpowers. SM has a superhero storyline and theme that pretty much stretches across all of its groups and artists, everything that SM does is part of their SM Culture Universe storyline.) As an SM Entertainment group member, it's not a surprise that Kai is impressing you with his singing. The outstanding vocals you hear are just what SM is known for. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to become part of its company. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their vocal and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists.That is why SM is one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea and around the world which is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. SM puts a huge emphasis on showcasing outstanding vocal talent. And EXO is a group that is a perfect example of that. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in someway to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 9 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the members' solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet EXO and they came to Earth with superpowers on a mission to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one if not all of them using their powers. So, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years, we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. Kai's EXO superpower is teleportation, so what you see throughout his "Mmmh" MV is him teleporting. And, I think, at the very end scene what you are seeing is SM connecting Kai's solo storyline to EXO's storyline. You see D.O.'s power of earth (dirt) which gives him super strength/force and Xiumin's power to control snow/ice/frost being used. (D.O. and Xiumin are members of EXO.) You also see what I think is the emergence of a pyramid, which represents Kai and his superpower -- as part of EXOs storyline, all the members have a symbol that represents them. A pyramid is Kai's symbol and when you see a pyramid within EXO's storyline it represents something to do with Kai. I also find it interesting that Xiumin returned from the military about a month before this MV was released, and D.O. just returned from the military shortly after its release, so the end scene in "Mmmh" may be SM's way of connecting the events of this MV to D.O. and Xiumin's solo work as well. If you analyse all the scenes within Kai's MV you would find connections can be made to EXO's storyline and things to do with past EXO MVs and probably even future MVs, as well as SuperM's storyline. Kai is also a member of SuperM, which is the industry's very first Supergroup. SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. They debuted in 2019 and they are designed to bring Kpop to the U.S. market. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups, which includes EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV. SuperM's concept is that they are "The Avengers of Kpop," and the members are supposed to be superhero-like characters who are coming together to form an Avengers-like group to help EXO defeat the evil Red Force. And, like the majority of SM's groups, all of their storylines and concepts intertwin and connect. For example, in SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, you see Kai being chased by or being aided by drones as he tried to scale a building, in his attempt to stop the Red Force. So, I think the scene in "Mmmh," where you see him looking at the drones hovering around him, has something to do with connections between Kai's solo storyline and SuperM/EXO's MVs. Also, Kai means opening as in a door or gateway, so as a member of EXO, Kim JongIn (Kai) was given the stage name Kai because, as the center of the group, he is supposed to be the member who connects everyone together and that is why he was given the ability to teleport. Plus, as part of EXO's storyline, it is thought that the members are traveling between dimensions and time periods throughout history in their quest to find the Tree of Life and to fix all the evil and corruption that is thought to be caused by the Red Force. So, it is thought that what you see in Kai's MV is him traveling between dimensions and across time periods in his search for the other members and the Tree of Life, etc. That is why you see him in so many different locations and scenes in this MV. There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in these scenes is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. Another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force. (As we see introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV.) So, some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai. All of the EXO members first solo songs have something to do with the fact that they are members of EXO, and their MVs and songs show them using their powers. D.O.'s recent MV "Rose" shows him using his power of force, Baekhyun's debut album City Lights and MV "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV. As the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well. Even in their solo work, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline as members of EXO. :D Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order. So, we fans have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of everything any of the members of EXO/SuperM are involved in to try and piece it all together and figure out where each part fits within their larger storyline. And the story isn't just limited to their MVs, but it extends to everything EXO is involved in, including teaser videos, live performances, concert VCRs (videos played between sets in their concerts) and even a majority of their choreography. As you can see, EXO's and SM Entertainment's Universe is extremely complicated and complex, and even the most expert of fans, has trouble following the storyline. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. And oftentimes, because the story is not in order, we discover that, with the introduction of a new MV or performance, everything we thought to be true has been turned on its head and we now have to rethink everything. (We only hope that someday SM will release the book or produce a movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.) If you like Kai's dancing you have to check out his dance practice video for "Mmmh." You are going to be even more blown away when you see the full choreography. There is a reason why Kai is considered one of the BEST dancers in the industry. ;P As the main dancer of EXO, Kai is literally one of the top two best dancers in Kpop. And that's not just a fan's opinion, but it's a title given to him by his peers and the the industry as a whole. (Taemin from SHINee -- another SM Entertainment artist, who happens to be Kai's best friend since trainee days, and is a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) There is literally no one better when it comes to dance than Kai and Taemin. Kai is a fashion icon and he is highly sought after by some of he biggest names and brands in fashion to be their model and brand ambassador, etc. He is also considered one of the sexiest Kpop idols, and he is known for his super sexy onstage personality. However, when not on stage he is the complete opposite of what you see here. He is actually kind of shy and innocent and he blushes when you compliment him for his looks or his performance.

That's my ultimate bias 😭😭😭❤❤ in my opinion, Mmmh is Kai and Peaches is Jongin. Two sides of one person: sexy and cute. If we're talking about which song I prefer, I have to say I probably prefer Mmmh's more r&b style but I love his vocal tone in Peaches. His little nasally honey voice is so cute 😭🔥❤🎶 Also 8:36 man I understand. He's the prettiest man in the world.

Kai is unique. No one is like him. His ballet & Jazz background makes him an amazing versatile dancer. The best in the industry even. PS: Teleportation is his superpower in EXO and of course he's incorporating it in his Solo.

Fun fact: Peaches, and peach trees in particular, symbolize immortality in Korean culture and the modern take on traditional Korean clothing that Kai wears in the MV seems to symbolize that he is an immortal being that plans to continue his journey for many more years with no plans of stopping. I have also heard that images with everything to do with this MV and comeback content reference things to do with traditional Korean folktales, so Koreans and those that know Korean culture would understand some of the references and stories he is referring to. I'm also fairly certain that there are also things in this video that can be connected to EXO's storyline, however, I haven't had enough time to really think about it to make any solid connections yet. The title of this song and album is stylized as "Peaches 2" because this is Kai's second album. I guess it's SM's new style, they put the album number in the title of the album. "he's not only a visual, not only a dancer" yesss kai is an all rounder he's really got it all. I love how he pays attention to the smallest detail in every one of his projects from the sets to the fashion all the way down to personally checking out every single one of his background dancers. i feel that since exo are the kings of vocals in kpop, every single one of the members are extremely talented vocal wise and you do see main vocals more at the forefront. he really proved the people that said he couldn't sing wrong lol. thank you for sharing your reaction!

Yeah that’s one of the best looks in kpop period. Honestly, Kai With a mullet and Got7 jb with long hair is arguably the 2 best looks I’ve seen from male idols!

All of us who saw a year ago not only MMMH which is more popular, but KAI:FILM, we were amazed of this great album, its versatility, cinematography, concepts, costumes, artistry. SO we were waiting and got AGAN a great 2nd mini album with the title track Peaches. The other tracks are as great as this one, just he said he did not have time to make them in small films as in FIlm: FILM.

Ppl saying "unexpected hidden so far beautiful vocals"/falsetto.. but the voice!! is really unique, somehow raspy but soft and def easily recognizable bc it does not look like any other- exactly what you said and I felt too. He is not the one with high and strong voices "to belt" up there and he does not have to, but again he hits them, the high notes! but softly, gently, in clean stable falsetto! which I only heard tens of years ago with Bee Gees! He clearly has his niche, not comparable to anybody, with that "UMF".

And look at live stage performance of PEACHES = he made it perfect for stage too, the costumes - from Imperial Korea,(as are all the rest in the original MV) but with modern contemporary twist, and the colors at the background!! CLASSY - in black and white.. and even silver streak in his hair...THE BOOTS are traditional too from that era and only nobles/kings/princes were wearing them. As you said SO MUCH is going on, one has to watch it over and over to "discover "ALL the beauty/artistry... For me he's outdone himself.. this is a level up.. As you know too, the sky is the limit for his creativity, artistry, visions, talents. @@infinitelocke Well, I do love Exo, found out abt them bc of KAI. SM has very high standards, the best coaches/experts in every field of this business. So KAI& EXO were thoroughly selected among hundreds, trained for 7-8 years!! Were a hit immediately upon debut & were/are top group/legend for 9 yrs. So he knows everything bc and with them. He grew up and now he's showing MORE of himself, which was not used in Exo= his incredible voice, range, his style of singing and his individual unique creativity/artistry!

Peaches is that dreamy sound ☁️. Mmm is more spicy 🌶. *why are you like this?* 🤣

His live performance is way more amazing

Actually if you listen most exo songs closely, you're going to hear that almost in every song Kai is part of the chorus or the most catchy parts so they did use his voice a lot, he just didn't really sing alone a lot, he has a lot of choreo to do so probably they didn't want him to feel too pressured, as exo mostly sings live. Also in their early songs he was a rapper but I'm glad they made him a vocal instead (like two moons or Taemin ft Kai pretty boy was jut not it, though the songs are nice)

I do not think Super M as well as EXO ever used Kai's singing abilities, never showcased them. Again he was visual, main dancer even less than in Exo. Baek and Taemin were treated there like the "seniors" and "the stars".Kai as usual was somehow for me "at the background".. even was placed to dance at the second row!! like a back-up dancer for the young ones Lucas, Mark etc. whom SM is promoting now.. I am always mad watching their performances bc of that. He deserves way better treatment. ..
