I also have mad respect. Poor Miss Marion has a lot to deal with. Aging parents for which you think you have a sister to help you with and then all of a sudden you lose her and your nephew. Then in the middle of all that, you have to go and testify and dredge that memory up.. Coming back to court a couple weeks later and making an impact statement and dredging all that up again? No thanks. I think I'll conserve my efforts for things I have real control over. And no reason to put her parents through that either.

I am very relieved too. Very rarely people in power, politicians, lawyers, celebrities face consequences for their actions. I'm glad they threw the book at him. It was the timeline, the phone records, and the kennel video and other odd things, like his clothes missing from earlier that day and there was no blood transfer on him when 'checked the bodies" that sealed his guilt for me. The timeline leaves no room for anyone else to have been there. They got the right man.

The family doesn’t want to hurt Buster or the other Murdaugh’s. I was the Victim Specialist for the USAO in MDNC & the Grand Jury Coordinator for the USAO District of SC. I didn’t expect victim impact statements from Maggie’s family. Having sat through countless trials I thought the State’s case was awesome. I thought it was great to let Alex keep talking while he was testifying. I knew he’d hurt himself by continuing to talk. Paul spoke from the grave with the Snapchat. Little detective indeed. I pray the Appeals Court will deny Alex a new trial. The judge was the best I’ve seen. We can’t understand the mind of a madman. I’m glad nobody called him a narcissist. I think many people are fascinated by the psychological side of this horrific crime. How can a successful, supposedly happily married family man do this? Birmingham City University's study of family annihilators found 4 types of family annihilators- self-righteous, disappointed, anomic, and paranoid. Murdaugh fits into the anomic type. These are the ones that equate their family with financial success, and once the money isn't there, the family becomes meaningless. I remember looking this phenomenon up after it was mentioned in an episode of Law and Order, and was thinking through the whole trial that this time it wasn't, sadly, a fictional case.

It is very sad. And there are more than just one lesson to learn from here. Shows how corrupt the system is. At least justice was rightfully served in this case. Besides many others on the other side of this table.

Narcissist's rip thru your life like a tornado. The family is still in shock. Denial is one of the stages of grief. They each will move thru it differently.

So true. It's a shock once you realize who they are. Takes a while to even find your bearings and wrap your head around. Definitely a process. There is a lot of trauma in this situation.

The Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General trying a case in open court. Amazing. It must take a lawyer to catch a lawyer.
