Right!? Who knew I would start listening to hip hop from other artists and enjoy it? Who knew I’d be going and watching reaction vids of past rap battles and dis tracks? Not me, but here I am. Ren is a bridge to so many genres.

56 - and we still did that... maybe with just a bit more serious intent. We bought the booze and cigarettes, had a bonfire and the boys... ahhh. the boys...lol. Such fun times. Youth today needs to go outside more, that's where the fun was.

I am 10 years older than you, I didn't listen to much of anything like that. My two kids might have, but I never heard it from them from radios or anything. So maybe they weren't into hip hop or rap either. LOL I do love Ren though and he's giving me music I may have ignored during that time. I was / am a country music lady, mostly old tune, disco and some soft rock. Anything from the 60' up through the 70's. I missed out on a lot of other music. KZread is educating me now. hahaha

The Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" video was considered one of the best music videos from the 90's (and the song is fire), so yeah! Some Beastie Boys would be great!

Please react to "Crutch". Ren wrote it at the height of his illness several years ago. It features guest vocals by his ex-gf Bibi. It's hauntingly beautiful - guaranteed to give you chills! Hint... read the brief introduction Ren wrote before playing the video. The cinematography is breathtaking and was done with zero budget. Trust me, you are going to want to react to this! Be prepared to get your socks knocked off, as Ren's vocals (especially at the end of the video) will blow you away! 💛

The whole video is paying homage to the beastie boys vids. "so, watcha' want", "intergalactic", "make some noise", " sure shot", "3mcs and 1 dj" which you guys should do reactions to. 1. cause you do reactions and the beastie boys do well for reactions 2. Eric the hip hop head should be versed on the beastie boys, not throwing shade just saying you should cause you won't be disappointed. ... and remember " if you roll 2 spliffs then you're double jointed" (100 points to anyone who gets that reference)

You don't have to do reviews on Beastie Boys, but I do recommend going into their playlist and checking them out. Some great songs! Another great Ren song to check out, if you haven't is Ready for You. Shows off his all-around talent - rapping, singing, lyricist, etc. Plus, Chinchilla just dropped a new video called Cut You Off. Holy crap it is good. Great review guys, keep it up!

It is the greatest tribute to Beastie Boys without being an official tribute in my opinion. If you like the vibe, you should listen to "So Watcha Want" or "Pass the Mic" from the Beastie Boys. good rap with crazy lyrics that just make you smile. :)

Yes this is a throw back to The Beastie Boys with the way he's singing. The dancing has throw backs to multiple rappers. Including Kid and Play near the end with the jump over step. Great reaction

My dudes. You need to go down a Beastie Boys rabbit hole. The song title here is a callback to BB's "So What'Cha Want." Some of my favorites -- a little off the beaten path -- are "Root Down" and "Shake Your Rump." Some classics are "Three MCs and One DJ" and "Intergalactic."

Not sure if anyone remembers when movies had killer soundtracks. But Fast and The Furious, had a song titled Urban Assault Remix. Fred Durst of Limp Bisket had a verse that he nods to. Also the White Tee and Red Pants are also a nod as well. Gotta love the Ren Easter Eggs he puts in his videos.

ERIC!!! You were spot on!! Your hip-hop knowledge may not go back to that era, but your instincts serve you will young padawan! This song is not only a nod to that era, but it is a direct "tip-of-the-hat" to The Beastie Boys, it's why he had his two buddies appear in the video, the outfits they wore, and the Beasties made the the fish-eye lens look a thing back then (360 camera's weren't around yet), plus many of their videos are of them just acting a fool around their home town of Brooklyn or NYC. GREAT reaction as usual. With you're now mature pallet for different music and genres, YOU MUST GO BACK!!!...lol, and check out some Beastie Boys, they literally have a track called "Whatcha Want", totally different from this track though, musically, but an excellent song to start with. Just don't start with "No Sleep To Brooklyn" or "Fight For Your Right To Party".....Both classic tracks, but were their first two hits, and the studio at the time encouraged them do songs with more rock, than rap in it, to get radio play. Or you could try "Shake Your Rump", "3 MCs and 1 DJ", "Sure Shot" or "Root Down", all good places to start off, and some of their best early work IMO. Also, don't forget, they were Rick Rubin's first group on Def Jam, and are credited with discovering LL Cool J and introducing him to Rick Rubin, and also talking Rubin into letting Public Enemy go on their first tour with them, giving Chuck D and company their fist nationwide exposure. Probably why Chuck D and LL were the ones that inducted the Boys into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Ok, I'll quit being a fan boy now and shut up. Great job as usual guys!!
