Gary Moore was Tommy's idol When he was younger his dad show him Gary Moore guitar playing. Tommy said he wanted to grow up playing guitar and be just like him. He now owns one of Gary's guitars. Gary would be so proud of Tommy keeping up his legacy.

You get great guitarists and you get great vocalists but it’s so rare to get someone who can do both. Being a lifelong Gary Moore fan Tommy is the man to carry on his legacy.

Over the Hills and Far Away was actually the first "Nightwish" song I ever heard, many years ago (with Tarja, of course), that's how I first heard Gary Moore's name. After that I heard the original and then Tommy. I adore Floor, but in this case I love Tommy's and Tarja's version way more. Both Tommy and Nightwish did a magnificent job with their covers

It so happened that I first heard this song performed by Nightwish, with Tarja. It was only later that I heard Gary Moore's original. Tommy again managed to make his version, extraordinary, magnificent, however, as always.And an incredible solo! Thanks for the great review.

As I didn’t listen to Gary Moore a lot when I was young I always listen to Gary after I have heard Tommy’s covers of him. They are equally enjoyable. Astonishing. I have learned so much of Gary through Tommy’s covers. Thanks Arias for this honest, joyful, loving and sincere reaction.

Slightly off topic, but I'm going to recommend "Over the Hills and Far Away", John Tam's version of the 18th Century British Army marching song that featured in the 1990s "Sharpe" TV movies starring Sean Bean. No disrespect to Tommy, it is a very different sounding song in a very different context.

Little late on the messaging. Been looking through your old vids; how have you not reacted to "Primo Victoria" by Sabaton yet? It's their best song. Also, I'd highly recommend "Van Canto" They are an acapella metal group who cover some really great bands
