Brad, at one point after the 1997 Asian crisis, the Malaysian Ringgit was pegged to USD1=RM3. 8, there were RM500 note and also RM1,000 note, now those notes are discontinued. The RM100 is now the highest value note. The new RM5 and RM1 notes are made durable from plastic.

The money colour scheme is from the British colonial era. Some similarities in colour will be seen on bank notes from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. The currencies used to be par value till 1973 when Malaysia left the currency union. Singapore and Brunei have retained the union hence you could use their bank notes in either country.
Spectacular and lively atmosphere and views of cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🇲🇾 Thanks Solomon and Brad for sharing this video.. It's pretty awesome! 👍

7:00 - Kandar is the act of placing a stick on the shoulder to support or carry goods (which hang from both ends of the stick). That was the way rice and some side dishes were sold in the olden days which was later named as "Nasi Kandar"
You can do surfing in a mall. Go to theme park in a mall. Visit a rainforest in a mall.

The RM1 & RM5 is made from synthetic polymer and it was introduced in 2012. In addition to being durable and not easily torn, the polymer banknote does not absorb water, is cleaner to handle and lasts longer. The picture that featured in each note was the first 'Yang di-Pertuan Agong' (King of Malaysia) - Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
Wait for Aidilfitri or Eid Ul Mubarak Decoration

the rm1 and rm5 bill are made of plastic because it was the most used as small changes. the paper type would have been worn out with the amount of usage.
You should try nasi dagang too
FYI...before 1998 there is Rm500 (pink) and rm1000 (gray) bill
Bring him to Malacca to try Cendol Kampung Hulu
Many travelers do not know the route of this shopping center, they prefer to walk on the side of the road, sometimes it is difficult for them to cross the road, it is hot,it is raining and they are confused with the route, which I always see.

Welcome to Kuala Lumpur city of Yap Ah Loy. You should try Malaysia traditional food Bak Kut Teh and Char Siew Pork.
Alhamdulillah
I prefer underrated...overrated can cause so many troubles, social problems...of cos its good for economy of the country but sometimes you will get annoying with overcrowd of tourist & immigrants... look at Thailand...they open up for everything including "sex tourism" no wonder they are one of the most tourist destination in the world LOL....
@Hellibra

Yes. I have been to Thailand, everywhere there were ladyboys, girls in skimpy dress etc. You dont feel comfortable. The male western tourists are mostly going there for sex! I don't want this kind of attraction for Malaysia!
Malaysia has achieved many successes in various fields at the international level, for example in terms of sports and education. Since then, Malaysia has been active in providing aid to other countries affected by calamities. In the 1990s, the Malaysian Army became the savior of the USA army that was surrounded by terrorist areas in African countries. Has he been living without the internet all this time? or just a gimmic for video title ? 😅
