Yikes, he grated his knee on that brick road. I did the same thing a year ago on a random diamond plate sheet of steel in the woods and I never got the feeling back in my knee. I will never ride without knee pads again. Hope he's okay!

If stairs like these are blocked off from public for a race, that is no problem at all, but I feel there was too many close calls here. Some local people were just using the stairs like normal, and you charge down there like they should know this is about to happen. One of them even walked her dog. This is just not ok because people in the city will definitely not expect someone to charge down there on a bicycle.

Again, this is not at all out of the ordinary by any stretch. Skaters have been doing this and worse for decades. A couple’a pedestrians looked surprised. Nobody got hurt and as with most things of the shredding nature, normies usually like it and take a spectator’s interest like we saw in this video.

I only point out my view on *_THIS_* video and nothing else. He's not going to be responsible for what someone else did on a skateboard, and someone on a skateboard is not going to be responsible for what he is doing, so just focus here for a few seconds. They should have had someone be a lookout to prevent what you saw, and they did not. This is why it was too close, and claiming you got good brakes is just an excuse because he knew it was too close.

Don't worry there was no close call, everyone was friendly and for the most part, Drew, I or someone else was checking all was clear. I could have also rode everything faster if it had proper close off streets.

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

MTB would be 25 years behind if nobody ever just pushed the boundaries (bikes, skills, or locations). There’s plenty of it occurring daily everywhere, you just happened to see it on KZread and shake your fist at the screen. Everybody makes a faux pas sometimes, you don’t have to set that as their standard. Ride on!

Great job riding on sidewalks and stairs, and working to ruin the public image of other responsible riders. Doesn't matter if it's fun or cool, or whatever, it's irresponsible and takes us farther back instead of increasing bicycle advocacy.
