I honestly think that Craig's R34 looks better in the paint scheme he had it in before it was painted for the movie. So the story goes, and this comes from Craig Lieberman guest-starring on The Smoking Tire Podcast "Episode labeled Fast but not so Furious" That when he bought the R34. It was originally Jet-Black with a Sky Rally Body Kit, and it was dubbed 'The Blackbird" as an Omage to the "Blackbird Porsche" from Wangan Midnight, as well as naming it after the black Russian Spy Planes during the Cold War. But whatever, so he buys "The Blackbird" for $78,000 USD back in 2000 *Which means he basically paid $119,100USD in 2020, so that's roughly $162,000 CAD in 2020. Then he paints it Blue with the red stripe along the body line, which had everyone screaming in outrage "He's modifying the car he's ruining the originality of it." But he had a plan. He knew Universal was going to be looking for cars to be auditioned for 2F2F. Originally Paul Walker was going to drive DODGE NEON SRT4 *YUCK* so that's why he modified the Blackbird because he wanted to show Universal what the R34 was capable of.

Exactly 2fast 2furious put me and my cousins on to car culture, what a fucking legendary movie and Car.

The 2fast 2furious prelude where Paul is still on the run and finds the GTR in a car lot was the best.

Love the first 2 movies and there's no denying that 2F2F sparked the craze for the R34 in North America

When I first saw 2 fast 2 furious I automatically knew that was my dream car

I saw the first fast n furious in the theatre and I loved it. I raced a civic on the way home and blew the motor in my FC RX7... I will remember that night forever lol.

Steven Rigg yes it was they used 4 real GTRs search it. It was only in the 4th movie that they used gtts and only 1 real gtr. I was being sarcastic anyway about buying a real gtr.

You need the rb26 motor with mods from hks. The twin turbo becomes a single turbo. And the turbo you need is the HKS T04Z, front pipe, any muffler. It’s a 10k mod for the movie sound.

Go for Single Turbo for that Iconic sound man... love this build!

I am a huge fan of cars, and tuner caars, I love all, German, JDM, Italian supercars, I love them all, and about the mlovies, I think I saw most on TV, talking about the later ones, but the first series were definitely the era with the neon lights, wiith the Nos, with all that, much of which we call Ricer style today even. I love it. Even the Pimp My Ride did their cars in this style, and I was never a fan of their projects, but I do respect them.

It sounds like you haven't seen the prologue to 2F2F.......after Fast and furious his "getaway" car was a red twin turbo Mitsubishi 3000GT he modded and raced making money and escaping across USA to the south....he picked up heat at stop he made and had to abandon the 3000GT He picked up the GTR hero car that was beat to death and driven by a teenage son of a shifty used car lot. He worked on it tirelessly to get it what it is today and that's how he entered the scene in Miami...That's why it's so popular, it saved him and let him build a new life in Miami

just one info, "this is RWD, its not AWD like GTR", the skyline GTR R34 is RWD but it has technology to spend some traction from the rear and transfer to the front, thats what makes us think it is AWD, but what a nice video, wonderful takes from the car, seeing this makes me think about do some replicas too, i literally forget about that idea that fast furious customization is "outdated"

To people thinking why he didnt have blue stripes if you watch prelude to 2f2f there brian after his car is impounded he bought green gtr and then had it tuned up and after winning few races he put just silver paint on it

Y’all forgot the most important thing, it’s custom custom blue part of the paint job or blue livery because it just looks like a heavily modified GTR like that.

I generally don't like movie cars but this is a wonderful tribute to Paul. And I somehow wasn't subscribed and I apologise for that. I question what choices I've made to never come across this channel.
