Everyone does this. They hyper inflate the value of their own build because they think their time and labor should be paid for by the buyer. However that never happens. Doesn’t matter if you spend 10 years or 10 mins, no one wants to pay for that. That car would sell for maybeeee 80k realistically. You could buy a 2016 or even newer AMG GT race car from Mercedes that you can race at a track. A full blown, track killing machine for 500k. And those are the same cars professionally raced in the GT series and go much faster than this thing. It doesn’t matter if he has paid for 15 different engines over the years. You are paying for the one that is in the car now, now all the ones sitting in the shop broken.

Wow that's a lot of money that man spent on modifying his race car with the help of his team. One day I will turn my Nissan 350Z into a straight up track day car.
My dad is the same way with his motorcycles. He would always find ways to make something work, and he used his hard earned money to do it. The only thing holding him back from building his dream motorcycles is money. Even his $30 an hour job isn't enough because of family. I'm not saying he doesn't care about his family. He always dies his priorities first, but as hard as he works, he deserves to have his dream motorcycles. He is currently rebuilding a really old motorcycle from I think the 70s, and sometimes he has to build his own parts in his garage. He can literally build anything from the ground up because he is just good at that, but the only problem is money. I told him you could make way more with the knowledge he has, but he says he doesn't want to turn his hobbies into a job.
