Hi! I`m actually the one that called the police for you lol. I just came across your video today, I didnt know you are a youtuber but thought you looked familiar, I must have seen your videos before. This video came up on my recommendation list and what a coincidence! I was actually very curious about what happened after I left, I was late for my appointment so I had to run after the cops arrived. I`m glad you are all ok. The reason why I decided to call the police was not to bring any trouble to you. What went through my mind at the moment was that "what a bully!"; and if I let that guy walk away, he will do the same thing to another Asian kid like us. And I wasn`t going to let that happen. I`m sad that someone like him probably went through so much in his life that he felt the anger and aggression to do what he did to you, but it also doesn`t justify his violence. Although you didn`t press charges against him, the cops did show up, they surrounded him, questioned him, and I`m sure told him not to do it again. That to me is enough to teach him a lesson to not bully someone else.

Maybe you don't live in NYC but walking is faster than driving in a car there. From the look of it the cars were going 5-10 mph. It just look fast because he was on the board.

The person who is going faster takes control over navigating. If the rider is defensive, and if people move around predictably, nothing wrong will happen. I’m guessing what you truly dislike is that these skateboarders have an unequal level of control. They could potentially cause an accident. But for all you know they could have an accident rate of 0%, yet you state they pose a danger to pedestrians. I’ve been walking, riding bikes, skateboards, and scooters for years. I haven’t gotten into a single accident. And I will say this, in my case, the rate in which inattentive pedestrians hurt themselves is higher than what I’ve caused on anything I’ve ridden. I’ve seen pedestrians walk into traffic, spill coffee onto each other, I’ve even seen other pedestrians accidentally step on dogs. Pedestrians need to start paying attention to how they are walking. Even when I’m walking around, I can see all the ways people are walking around unsafely. They’ll run red lights, they’ll walk around in herds, they won’t give 2 shits about oncoming traffic. And sure, I can give you that some skateboarders are rude idiots and actually pose a danger to society. But I’d argue those people are also the ones with many broken bones, and who have a whole host of mental issues. Most skateboarders are not like that. Don’t lump them all together like that.
