How many MOTU toys did you have as a kid?
Since their introduction in the 1980s, He-Man toys have captivated the imaginations of children and collectors alike. Created by Mattel, the Masters of the Universe toy line brought to life a world of heroic battles, cosmic powers, and fantastical creatures. Let's take a deep dive into the incredible world of He-Man toys and explore why they continue to hold a special place in the hearts of fans worldwide.
At the heart of the He-Man toy line is the iconic character of He-Man himself. He-Man, also known as Prince Adam, is the heroic alter ego of the young prince of Eternia. Endowed with incredible strength and armed with the Sword of Power, He-Man defends the realm of Eternia against the forces of evil led by the diabolical Skeletor.
The He-Man toy line featured a wide range of action figures, each meticulously designed with incredible attention to detail. The figures boasted muscular physiques, vibrant colors, and captivating sculpts that perfectly captured the essence of the characters. From He-Man's heroic stature to Skeletor's menacing visage, the figures were instantly recognizable and ignited the imagination of young fans.
The diverse cast of characters in the He-Man universe added depth and excitement to the toy line. Alongside He-Man and Skeletor, fans could collect figures like Teela, Man-At-Arms, Beast Man, and many more. Each character had unique features, weapons, and abilities that made them a must-have for collectors. The figures were fully poseable, allowing kids to recreate epic battles and unleash their imagination.
One of the standout features of the He-Man toy line was the incredible playsets. The most famous of these was Castle Grayskull, the mythical fortress and the source of He-Man's power. Castle Grayskull was a massive playset that opened up to reveal multiple levels, secret compartments, and interactive features. It was the centerpiece of many epic battles and provided endless hours of imaginative play.
Another notable playset was Snake Mountain, the eerie lair of Skeletor. Snake Mountain was a sinister and foreboding structure that perfectly represented Skeletor's dark nature. Like Castle Grayskull, it had numerous features and accessories that added to the play experience and allowed fans to recreate the ongoing conflict between He-Man and Skeletor.
He-Man toys weren't just about action figures and playsets; they also featured a range of exciting vehicles. The Wind Raider, a versatile flying vehicle used by He-Man and his allies, allowed kids to soar through the skies and engage in aerial battles. The Battle Ram, a powerful battering ram-like transport, added an extra layer of excitement to the playtime adventures.
The popularity of He-Man toys extended beyond the playroom. The franchise inspired various forms of media, including an animated television series, comic books, and even a live-action film. These adaptations further expanded the mythology of He-Man, drawing fans deeper into the fantastical world and fueling their desire to collect the toys associated with the franchise.
He-Man toys also embraced the concept of collectibility. Throughout the years, Mattel released limited edition figures, variant versions, and exclusives that appealed to avid collectors. These rare collectibles often featured unique paint schemes, accessories, or packaging, making them highly sought after among enthusiasts. The allure of completing a comprehensive He-Man collection drove fans to search far and wide for these prized treasures.
Decades after their initial release, He-Man toys continue to hold a special place in the hearts of collectors and fans. The nostalgia for these classic toys has led to a resurgence in recent years

Man I am so glad I bought Castle Grayskull 99% complete from the US with box shipped to Australia about 15 years ago for $100 before import taxes killed the all that (I got the little gun later for a good price elsewhere years later and now 100% complete) I mean I could never afford these loose prices now.

Great video! :) I really hope we get to see some of the displays this guy will make, as it could be epic! What a cool store and group of guys! Love this channel
"You'd think if they cut down the mould it would start off with more detail and go to this" Actually, that's not how moulds work. Remember, moulds are the inverse, you don't build onto them you cut out of them which adds the detail. So, if you take a mould and want to add more detail you etch into or cut out the new detail, then when it's cast the new details stick out of the figure. For example, imagine you have a mould for the hull of a toy ship, but it had no masts; you could drill two deep holes into the mould, and when it was cast you'd see two masts sticking out of the figure like two solid pipes. This is way cheaper than re-sculpting and re-tooling a new mould! If you subtract detail from a mould, or you want to add lines or channels into it, you have to re-make the entire thing, you can't just fill parts of the mould in, especially not when they're brass or steel. That's why Action Man's 'Sharpshooter Head' was such an easy fix, they just etched a lug into the neck on the body mould.
I just started watching ur KZread channel this weekend so far I got to say is wow ya'll have a awesome collection of toy that I use to have when I was a kid I'm 60 years old and in one of the video I seen the Six Million Dollar Man .the master of the universe that guy had a good collection

Well he doesn't own a pawn shop, he has a lot more freedom when it comes to product he may not need at the time, parts, speculation, display ideas, a pawn shop floor space is a lot more precious and also operates as a financial institution under federal law not a normal business so overhead is far more complicated of a subject to talk about
