Hello, I'm an amateur hunter that just got into bowhunting a few months ago. Am going hog deer hunting in gippsland this weekend, but I seem to be confused about where I can hunt. Can anyone give tips about a good public land hunting location in gippsland with beach access. On more to explore, the only hunting areas are inland, and I want beach access. An early response is highly appreciated.

Is that swampy snot crossable by foot? Could you actually shoot and collect from in that swampy bit? Really interesting to see that type of country with deer in it. Shows just how adaptable Sambar are, this is a worry for the little coastal Hoggies as they have so little browse reach and the competition for such poor feeding grounds must make a difference.

Spot on on all accounts. Parks Vic has neglected the Hog Deer habitat and abundant Sambar deer are competing on a large scale. Hoggies moved out- poachers moved in. You 'could' recover an animal from the Swamp but you will need to know exactly where it fell, very monotonous out there with little landmarks visible above reeds. it sure is amazing, Love the Sambars Adaption!

@@HillDogTV I've seen 2 nice sambar while in my public land tree, it's hoggie only shooting there. I even asked the department afterwards specifically about the sambar invading that space and or pigs/dogs and fox/cat. They were dead clear 'hog deer in season and let everything else walk on by'
