That's unusual, what kind of HDRI's are you using? Are you using EXR Files?

Sketchy I’m having the same issue. I’ve been using .HDR files from HDR Haven and some .EXR files from some other sources. Both create the same issue. I’ve tried using linear color space, gamma setting, camera settings, HDRI power, nothing really solves it. I didn’t have this issue before? I came back to octane after switching to another software for a while and I’m now having this issue.

The answer to your question is maybe you're not using the HDRI as an image texture in your node editor. It's changing to a bit map for some apparent reason. Once you fix that you'll be fine

Create a texture environment and set it to visible environment instead of primary!

Everytime I work with some HDRI things get so blown out with exposure. Then I'm working with incredible tiny number .01. Anyone have this problem?

Try playing with the gamma setting on them. Some have a tendency to be super over exposed!

Try to set Color Profile of the HDRI to Linear, instead of Embedded. That helped in my case
