HDR 50 UK

Ойын-сауық

-----
The HDR 50 is classed as a paintball marker and is subject to the uk Airgun power restrictions of 6 ft-lbs or approx 7.5 joules.
All higher power levels are for use outside the uk in countries which allow.
This review talks about and refers to the paintball marker as a paintball marker in uk spec only.
I hope you enjoy the review of this revolver.

fun fact, these paintball caliber markers got banned in Finland and confiscated from stores. They are trying to figure out how to ban them without banning all paintball guns. Right now the ban applies to all T4E markers because an online seller was selling the different types of more "dangerous" ammo.

Was an instant fan of this gun from day 1, got mine last summer. at about 25 yards was able to knock tin cans all around the yard, Found it benifited from painting the forend blade white, the recent clone from Snowpeak has high viz fibre sights, much better set up in my opinion. The Umarex quality shines, found alternate cheaper brand .5 cal rubber balls available on line without the eyewateringly high price tag for OE suppliers.

At ten yards, hand held all, 6 •177 pellets are within a 2 inch circle. Maybe you could test one of the Umarex replica range, I think that it'd be of interest to your subscribers.

i would think some simple fiddling with its insides should unlock its full potential, but even still... should you choose to defend yourself with it, 6 rounds from it is more likely to seriously anger an attacker rather the stop him! but on the bright side it will be empty when its taken from you, so it cant be used to shoot you with before being used as a hammer to whack you over the head with... repeatedly.

@@ralphbooger4756 You may have a point - but after seeing some videos where gormless bozos volunteered ti be shot by the thing and the amount of pain they needlessly suffered, a couple of shots would probably be enough to persuade most folks to leave your premises - which is the point, after all. I just want to scare & dent tin cans w/one - looks like great fun - which is the major point!

@@ralphbooger4756 au contraire. Speaking from medical knowledge, trust me on this, in a bad situation those half inch balls if sadly unfortunate enough to hit the wrong spot would very likely be fatal. About 30 years ago we worked on a chap who'd been hit in the neck from about, we were told by the armed police who guarded us and him in theatre, 4 feet with a .22 round. He was lucky enough to walk out of hospital 2 weeks later.

I got the HDR 50 a few years ago, and mine came with 5 mags, which I thought was an absolute bargain at the time. I always pick up spare mags so having them in the box really was the cherry on top. I also have the HDR 50's little brother, the Umarex Tornado (or Brodax, for our US cousins) which is pretty good, esp for the price, and you can use the Umarex Colt Python mags in the Tornado and shoot pellets.

A real balloon stopper which sits in my gun cupboard in its holster. In the event that I ever felt threatened by balloons or tin plates, I think it is sufficiently safe to store in the house. No question that it would leave a bruise the size of a tin plate on the chest, or leg of any balloon that wanted some action and at 5-10 yards it could easily stop a balloon.

Hmm. I wonder what 'HDR' stands for.... By the way, at 8:44 I think you meant 'report' (an expolsive sound), not 'rapport' (a close and harmonious relationship).

I live in France and I have just bought the HDR 68 revolver. It's the big brother to the HDR 50 and looks similar - apart from the size, and it's only 5 shot.. With the rubber ball ammo provided it delivers over 16 J. With other types of ammo you can apparently get up to 19.9J. The legal limit in France is 20J. ( Up from 10J in 2013 ). Not sure how long the CO2 lasts. I haven't had a chance to properly test it yet. I think it's only 10 shots.

sadly anything above 7.5 joules requires a section 5 firearms license and they are only available to police and military here in the U.K. So naturally I won’t be reviewing one..Sorry!

Hi Andy, I bought an Hdr50 a few months ago from a chap who used to live in France, but has since returned to live in blighty. The problem I have is that when you fit a new co2 cartridge in it & pull the trigger, it empties the contents of it instantly. I was aware of this when I bought it from him, as this was reflected in the price. I was assured it would be an easy repair, but as I am new to the airgun world I don't have enough knowledge to risk tampering with the gun, so can you recommend somewhere I can take it to have this problem sorted, or where I can get a comprehensive owners manual plz. Thanks. Love your channel & content, & am learning so much from your in depth analysis of this sport.
