@@lyndaframe1986 It’s a song about his parents meeting as teens and their family over the years. The emotional impact is mainly driven by the last verse. I copy pasted the following from another source: “Brandon said in an interview that his mother, Jean Flowers, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer when he was putting the song together, before he recorded it in the studio. Knowing that her time was near, he wanted to learn as much about her life and all the knowledge his parents had to share, including the story of how they met. He then released A Dustland Fairytale with Day & Age in November 2008. When Brandon's mother had about 9 months left to live, he performed the song live with a full orchestra on David Letterman, a performance that is considered to be one of his most emotional. She lost her battle with cancer that February. Please remember the mother who raised him to be the wonderful man we know every time you hear this song.”

There was absolutely no need to share this song with the Boss. This song represents the highest form of the Killer's art. No one can cover it, let alone sing a duet to it.I lost my mom early on and each time I hear him singing about everybody needing his,I sigh and hold my chest.Much of popular music is very good prose such as that by newer groups like Dawes. This is poetry. It is beauty. It is life for good or for bad..Wonderful.DaVinci didn't ask Rembrandt to help with the Mona Lisa. This is the best rendition of this song that I have seen or heard.Thanks.

3:37 breaks my heart, so much feeling and grief in his voice. Oh my heart!

Great artists usually don’t have a problem dueting with another great artist. I love both versions

Agreed 💯 the Boss wish he had written this. The Killers covered Romeo and Juliet out of respect. Then they topped it. Respect.

Totally agree with you danieljudge...this is genius writing from someone who's clearly felt the pain and impact of losing a loved one. No one can ever come close and beat this performance. Listening to the killers makes me feel so effing fantastic I'm a very young 60yr old and unfortunately never seen them live yet. Best band EVER
You can just hear the passion in his voice ♥
Love that Dave is wearing a The Killers t-shirt :)
As intimate a performance as it can get in that type of iconic venue. Just beautiful.
The greatest live version of any song ever.
What a stellar performance! Lucky those who got to attend this concert.
I love musicians who love their music and love to perform and share with the audience.
Poor Dave , I know exactly how you must feel. All the boys flirting and having a laugh with with me til my hot mate turns up and I get dropped like a hot potato!! Hahaha
This is just one of the best performances that have ever been in the world.
I could watch this video thousand times.. just amazing
That was Dave's moment, Brandon.
I wish there was more in this song, 5 minutes are not enough!
Absolutely Definitely My Favourite 🤩 Killers song 🎶 it really makes the Butterflies 🦋 Flutter & makes my Heart ❤️ like a Squishy Marshmallow 🍡lots of Love ❤️ XxxTracyXxx ❤️
Soy caribeña y esta canción sigue siendo una de mis favoritas from THE KILLERS. Nada, que hacía falta un comentario en español aquí

HOLY SHIT!!
i will never not cry at this.
Te puedes saber toda la letra de sus canciones, pero cuando te detienes a escucharla y prestarle toda tu atención, hay algo hermoso que sientes, algo que dentro de ti se conmueve por completo. Larga vida a The Killers

The Best Perfect!!
Saw them last saturday, the hole band was really passionate since the last time they played here was four years ago. When this song started the hole stadium lit their flashlights and Brandon just cried, took three minutes for him to continue singing. Even though i wasn't that close, the live performance of this song is always incredible.

No sabia el significado ni la letra de esta canción cuando los vi en vivo, aún así llore mucho, cuando entendí el sentido de la canción, entendí por qué habia llorado en el concierto...es raro, es de esas canciones que no es necesario entender sus letras para sentirla.
Every song by them is like that. Just awesome
Krog God created these four, to which I say well done Lord, regarding this performance of Dustland. EPIC

Epic Performance….. Epic!
Saw this tour .. not at Royal hall clearly lol.. but in Seattle .. seeing them again for the 7th time .. and the 6th at the same Seattle Venue they’ve played in since Sam’s Town/Sawdust .. to see the mirage / Pressure tour ! 2 new albums we haven’t seen live thanks to the apocalypse.. unless u were lucky enough to catch a Vegas show before the world stopped
I'm pretty sure I'd cry if I got to see this song live.
