Great video Scott. Very informational video as all your videos are. You really bring the best "real world" information to use "weekend enthusiast" out here in the REAL WORLD. 99.9% of the people watching these videos from around the entire world I would imagine need the type of information you bring to the masses. We aren't professional detailers in any sense of the word. Am I an enthusiast, absolutely. Do I strive to get what the professionals give in their incredible expertise when doing their full correction detail jobs? ABSOLUTELY. But realistically, what results can I get, that look close (and I know, close is subjective to different people) but I enjoy working on my cars and trying to get them close to what you get only using a "one step" product. I've tried a few different ones with good results. I currently just purchased 3D Products HD Speed and their HD Speed Polish and their HD Light purple foam pads. I plan on trying this process with those products out this weekend on my new Nissan Pathfinder in Maroon color. I plan on sealing it with Menzerna Powerlock and following up that with Optimum Opti-Seal as my LSP. For my everyday driver, it should look pretty good.

I think the scratches were heavier on the HD Speed side. HD Speed always delivers for me using forced rotation and a light /medium cutting pad. With forced rotation you can also move faster because you can really put some heavy pressure down for the first few passes. I also take much larger sections at a time. Its a bit of a work out using the forced rotation machine but it gets the job done much quicker.

Man i really needed this video and I wasn't even the one that asked for this. So basically I need speed for my buddy's car when I'm in the sun and griots for me when I'm in my garage lol. I have speed and live the shine, but didn't think it corrected well at all. Now I understand, thanks as always. Btw, just picked up a jug of super clean lol.

Scott, thanks for making that video. I didn't see that outcome coming at all. I can only imagine how much more aggressive the Griot's correcting & fast correcting products would be. Since I have both, Maybe I'll try HD Speed on her car, and Griot's on mine. One will get 845 & the other Powerlock, afterwards. Should be a great experiment. UPDATE: I tried HD Speed on the wife's car, Adriatic Blue (US made small 4 dr sedan). Tested on the deck lid. It did remove some of the swirling. But I think I may have gone a little fast. Slow is painful, and I need to work on that. There is a definite improvement. I then went on to mine, Inferno orange (US/Japan built full size pickup). Speed did a much better job on this paint. I was fighting the sun the whole way, so the results could have been better, but I am not complaining. Followed up with powerlock. Next weekend, we'll use Griot's on hers, followed by collonite 845.

Hi Scott .. thanks for all the great videos ive learned very much alot from you in detailing cars .. i have recently purchased HD Speed however, i noticed that the products consistency is slighty runny i.e. if on the pad and the da is tilted it runs all over the place so also, it tends to dust alot compared to Menz 3 in 1 which has no dust at all! Is it normal? As i see in your reviews the product seems to hold up on the pad while ur talking and never saw it dust. Thanks for the great videos!

Great video, very informative. I’m curious to your entire process using Griots products only - since there are so many, I’m not sure what does what? I wife owns a Black Murano with swirls you would normally see after years of driving thru gas station style car washes. I’m a beginner; will Griots Finishing Sealant remove swirls using a Griots 6’ Random Orbital or should I use a stronger polish - like Griots Correcting cream? Also, do you recommend following up with a wax, if so, what kind?

Decontamination, clay bar and then a good protection layer? Would this product be a good protection layer? There are some minor/tiny towel marks on the clear since the dealer did wash it a few times as it sat there. I have a DA polisher at my disposal. Actually a regular and 3 inch models. Yes, HD speed does stain pads and so does HD Polish+. In my experience, I don't care if a pad is stained as long as I am able to remove all of the waxes, sealants, polish, residue the staining effect of some AIO's and polishes doesn't effect the overall performance of the pad.

Nice work, Scott. The Griot's side looks superb considering it's an AIO. My question, though: How do these AIO's react to trim? Do they stain? Do either of them save you time (and money) by allowing you to skip a taping step?

Btw, in my view, HD Speed won because it did LESS correction - I'm a chauffeur and want to be able to lightly polish my car frequently, retaining as much clear coat as possible. ;^) Got some HD Speed on order. I had recently tried some Menzerna SF3500 and whilst it did produce a good result, I found it VERY difficult to remove afterwards. (I'm a raw beginner, btw)

Yeah fair enough, assuming of course it's easy enough to do the (small) amount of cutting I want to do, using the Griots. (i.e I wouldn't want to do more removal than the bare mininum) Just btw, unfortunately Griots isn't available in my country (Australia). I actually have some HD Speed but yet to try it. Looking at the reviews, I'm very optimistic. (as I would be for the Griots)

i agree Todd and doing cars for the buying public who don't have critical eyes and working on their daily drivers, griots BOSS correcting cream is a great one step that will please just about 80-90% of the buying public looking to remove swirls, fine scratches, hazy paint and give them awesome shine and gloss...the Griots Boss creams are a solid foundation for guys that do paint correction...to many get seduced thinking they need to make the paint absolutely flawless and work 10 hours on a car doing a 2 step, when in fact many are happy with a great 1 step using griots correcting cream:)

i think its also important to add that if you rely on the dual action polisher alone to do any form of paint correction, and that includes these fancy long throw polishers..lol..we need to understand and remember they are paint enhancement tools not TRUE paint correction tools like the rotary..thats why many will take days trying to get perfection from a dual action polisher and it drives up the cost because of the extra time needed trying to get perfection from a tool that was never designed to do so..thats why they call them swirls killers and not deep defect killers:)

So how is it fair to the HD product when technically you did a 2 step on the Griots side ?? Did anyone else pick this up ? The light scratches on the Griots side were the left over ones from the fast correction video .! And your can clearly see there were a lot more scratches on the HD side !!!😡🤔 hmmmm something to think about. I wouldn't use either of those products to remove scratches and anyway, the HF polisher is under powered for these type of jobs. I should know I own one. Being that I live in Central Fl. I would prefer the 3D Speed since I can use it in Sunlight. I'm not a professional detailer, just a weekend hack who hates prolonged sessions with a traditional one or two step jobs but if removing scratches is what is needed then I would use the more traditional methods involving 2 step paint correction.

Question for you brother. I did a black 2002 Corvette ZO6 last weekend kicked my butt. Seems like the clear was really hard on this car and didn't respond quickly to anything. Did the roof with HD speed was not real happy with results using an orange cutting pad same issue you had not getting scratches/swirls out. Swapped to CG V36 with another orange pad and was able to get rid of some of the swirls and wash marks in the paint. Then had to go over it with a sealant afterward anyway. My question to you is does it make more sense to just use a more aggressive polish/compound then follow with a red pad and get the sealant on the car in about 5 minutes. I know you use M105 and M205, but do you have any other go to compounds and polishes in your arsenal?

Do you offer a one stage package as i know. s20 is a true on step hwas no fillers no waxes why are you compite it with hd speed wich is AIO as the boss???? If a customer pays one step correction then the scholl s20, or boss correcting, or sonax ex 04-06 are the GO TO products to deliver the bets results???? (if the cost is not matter because in europe sonax and scholl i think have good pricing (s20 34 eyro 1kologramm, ex 04-06 36 euro 1litre) a daily driver customer can see the difference betwenn AIO witch last 1-2 months and a trye one step witch last a long< or not??? from your expirience?

@Doug V its the real world and when you do this for a business you have to honor your work and time. Thete are customers that don't want to pay you to do a 2 step or even a true 1 step with a sealant. Those customers get the hd/finishing sealant products. Time is expensive, a good sealant is expensive. So hes absolutely correct.

Todd Dyer try autogeek.com. While not the absolute BEST prices, but still competitive and they are usually running discounts and their shipping is free for orders over $75. Just bought a couple sets of Lake Country pads and Meguiars MF pads as well for under $100 before shipping. Can't compare to Scott since he gets his stuff from a wholesaler and he buys a lot of products...

John Krause not just the product! Give me my old 3M rotary and the whole car would be compound, polished, washed, waxed and out the door before this video is done. This industry has gone backwards with DA polishers imo. DA polishers are just a gimmick, just like 3/4 of the products that are available in this industry now. DA polishers are here because someone was afraid to use a rotary! DA’s are good for one thing, for lazy people who have to use a machine to put on wax. Swirl marks, holograms and burning paint will not happen with a true rotary if you know what your doing. If people were just taught properly with a rotary buffer/polisher time would be cut in half!

@@akaredcrossbow man you hit it right on the nose bro! I still do it the same way and dont get sucked in to paying too much money for products. Like you said buff wash n wax out the door and on to the next one! Less time no ridiculous price for products plus I can get 3 cars done by the time one is finished. Rotary is where it started and that's where I'm staying. All you here is I dont want swirls! That's why you have polish and wax! Just my opinion so meant no harm.

why..i would never do that in the real world..if my customer wanted a simple all in one polish i would never go over the car twice just to see how much more defects i could remove because we already agreed to a price and level of expectations..plus with over 26 years i know what polish would perform better after a comparison like this and i would just go with griots for this vehicle...but also in the real world its probably best to keep two good high quailty all in one polishes for your customers ...not all clear coats will respond the same but in this case griots won
