HD Hyundai’s Robotic Machinery Is Transforming the Future of Construction

Ғылым және технология

When we think of CES and the future of tech, it’s common to think of big TVs, phones, laptops, and handy smart gadgets. But the tech that’s literally building the future is here at this massive tech show, too, and nowhere is that more evident than at HD Hyundai’s massive interactive installation. This is exactly the kind of experience we need at CES. One which doesn’t just tell a story, but shows us what the future will look like as its being built. The 3D rendering in the visuals, the remote control and virtual equipment control experience, interactive displays, and virtual reality ride really brought HD Hyundai’s vision of the future to life.

Awesome video. As a civil Engineer, this was quite fascinating. The sector is generally slow to take on tech advancements but this posses insteresting solutions and questions about where the construction industry can go. Really appreciate this one Caleb. I love entertainment and ease of life tech but this brought CES to a meaninful level. Certainly would love to see more in coming years.

I really think this is one of the Most innovative things I have seen as far as AI tech goes to be able to get a lay of the land would probably reduce the chances of hitting electrical lines that are underground gas lines that are underground and sewage pipe that is underground. So in my opinion it is pure genius thank you Caleb for hunting this down and allowing everybody to see the future

I mean this is amazing. Imagine a Ais learning the most efficient effective path ways on the construction sites being able to work 24/7 with 0 death rates. All the vechiles can recognize each other drive around each other in dangerous sites not safe for humans. The list goes on and on!! This will revolutionize the construction sites and mining sites all around the world

I agree with you Caleb about what CES generally promises. I love the idea of seeing new tech emerge and wonder how it will be used. Having said that, I hope they figure out more efficient ways to transport energy that doesn’t rely on 70 year upgraded versions of equipment such as trucks and other vehicles to deliver it. We should be developing self-sustaining energy systems where capture like this isn’t needed. But it is very cool to see this wild sort of demo at an event known mostly for its TV releases.

Is this how they'll build NEOM in Saudi Arabia? Of course they can't upgrade immediately but for long term maintence and low impact energy being gathered onsite it seems almost too perfect for that project. This sure would eliminate a great number of obstacles they will inevitably encounter in getting it finished, I believe they;ve already started to rethink the transport system for example.

Not to poo poo on praise train here but considering I’m probably one of the few commenters that has experience in the construction industry, and considering I’m an electrician. I don’t care how many sensors and do dads on that equipment. There is no replacement for an operator that knows his equipment. Once they get a feel for the equipment they can push the machinery to do things that most people would think is possible maybe even dangerous. But they have balls of steel and know what there doing. Have you ever seen someone load a skid loader in a mini dump truck? They won’t teach ai that, that will require special equipment more money more logistical nightmares.

Factories are converting to robotics, and even fast food outlets are even starting to replace employees with machines. If we want a society where machines do all the work for us, and we get a liveable wage for doing nothing... fine. But that's not what's going on. Doesn't matter if you live in the city or the boonies... if you want to be a part of society, you need to work. The point of capitalism is to provide the world with the highest standard of living possible, which it has done - as opposed to socialism which has murdered 100-million people in the last 100-years and caused massed poverty and unproductivity. With that said, this could be the ultimate end of capitalism, in that it's reached its goal, and something new comes from it. We shall see, but it's going to happen regardless.

How is Hyundai going to reduce carbon emissions by electrifying everything not to mention batteries don't even come close to run time and sustained power output as a proper fossil fueled vehicle!!!!!!! Electric sucks IMO.

Batteries will continue to get better but fossil fuels are a dead end. You try being on a site all day with the combustion exhaust and engine noise and see how quick you clamor for a clean quiet battery. Batteries and machinery will be made in factories powered by renewables like wind, solar, and hydro power.
