It’s the other way around. The roads in NFS were based off this. Pretty much all the NFS/Forza games were inspired by these old vids.

I agree 100%. They got it so right in this instalment. Raw, balls out action with great production. Not too commercial though. Still had that 'underground' edge to it. GIS 3 is a close second tie with GIS 1.

I'll never get over how unbelievably badass that Cosworth sounds, I remember finding this back in the day before KZread, on Limewire. Those were the days!

One of the greatest videos to ever hit KZread, still holds its own in 2021, I remember watching this back when dial up was a thing....

sooooooo much nostalgia, I cant believe in 2022 is the first time I actually liked this video, i thought i had done so years ago, either way this was golden back then and still is now, thank you guys for this piece of autmotive excellence!

Forward to 2021, dashcam footage, CCTV and ANPR cameras everywhere. Glad I was driving in the 90s.

This is what Fast and Furious shouldve been about. If it had this specific, race oriented story, Id be the happiest MFr, thanks for sharing this jewel, my mouth waters with those engine sounds🤤

Very good for RWD with that kind of power, however the cosworth had the edge in the tighter turns due to it being all wheel drive

I remember downloading this on dial up and going to bed. Was worth the wait, still an awesome video. These guys were definitely ballsy.

The turbo soundtrack is just eargamic.

I remember having this video and trying to dowload the right codec to play it. This was before players came preloaded with the more popular codecs.

They have 200 but also weigh 200 tons. Knowing how slow even a normal V70 D5 is, an XC70 AWD with reinforced body and all that cop equipment must make most new cars able to outrun them.

@@dmc7173 I wouldn't mind that Cosworth.Sounds very nice,especially that turbo flutter.

Because the drivers were so professional, the available footage turned out so well. They both knew this camera was most important and catered to that. I'm sure we missed some incredible rear facing shots from the broken Cosworth camera and more, but these guys were so good that they set a precedent regardless.

If you think there is anything professional about this kind of driving you're not very bright. How often do you see actual professional drivers race like this? I'm all about a few high speed runs down the highway but there's a time and place for that. Nobody around me on the highway and never weave in and out of traffic. If you know anything about driving that fast then you know it doesn't take much at all to lose control switching lanes doing 120 mph ....

@@Egobyte83 True, but what about the driving, the pushing, the balls? Those cars in their day are getting wrung out hard for real. That's why I say the footage is so good. Go look at the newest vids I posted. I felt like I was pushing my car for real, but I look like a complete pussy next to this video.

17:33 That Bpu Supra sounds so SIK after that flyby....you can still hear long after it passes. People overlook the stock TTs configuration/power output; it really delivers a well balanced powerband across the rev-range for the 2JZ.

Actually, it's the muffler hitting the ground several times while they were riding, they mentioned it somewhere in an interview, at one point they thought Mr. X blew up the engine @ 10:54

Talk about blast from the past. I bought on eBay a good 15 years ago a DVD collection of street races, crashes etc, that this video was on... Haven't seen it since then either. Just popped up randomly in a search.

I watched this clip so often, i surely could starting to work as a taxidriver in Stockholm 😎

Damn 480hp supra casually rolls 300+ kmh... back in the day JDM cars were damn exciting and great. Now the only decent ones are amgs/rs/m.. sad that only german and usa cars have something on the table.

I think youtube converts the framerate and also they added the auto youtube video stabilization effect, which ruined the flow of the video. The original is much more visceral. I had an old version but the format used to compress it at the time was not easy to find. You had to search for the right codec and download it. some players could handle it some didn't.

The action of the camera makes me FEEL LIKE I AM GETTING MOTION SICKNESS.

@@gabrielgabro6797 för det första så är jag inte din brorsa och för det andra så vet jag precis vilket år videon är tagen och för det tredje så menar jag att med dom pengarna investerade i fordon som bilar, motorcyklar, båtar och helikopter så borde dom satsat på bättre kameror för det fanns på den tiden. Och, videorna som spelades in på 2000 talet höll bättre kvalitet än vad som visas upp här på yt vilket är störande och frustrerande.

Sjukt hur mycket Stockholm har förändrats, jag har nästan helt glömt hur annorlunda staden såg ut vid millennieskiftet jämfört med idag. Det var ju nästan som en liten by när man tittar på filmen. Hammarby-sjöstad var ju hälften industriområde och hälften skog det är ju tokigt.
