@@jupiterbjySigh, what an irony. Talking about consistency with FHD and QHD when OP is clearly using the 'K' marketing word. If you want consistency, it should be 2K, 2.5K, and 4K. This comment also contains a slight inconsistency since manufacturers usually call 1440p screens 2K, while it's actually closer to 2.5K. The same goes for 1080p.

I don't think most people understand how difficult it is to lift some of those more complex heavy objects, let alone walk around with them. Truly incredible work! edit: I think I worded this badly, what I meant was It's difficult to program a robot to be able to do this edit: A lot of the replies to this took this completely the wrong way. I didn't mean things like "everyone else is stupid" or "I'm the only person who understands this". All I meant was that it's really impressive and mind blowing what Boston Dynamics have achieved. Not really... We are "engineered" way more complex than needed, and we have a programmed durability of about 30 years... enough to start off the next generation. Our eyes are "backward", our pelvis and lower back is still half-quadroped, our air intake and foodway cross, causing us to choke, and what's up with the laryngial nerve? If an engineer made a connection from brain to larynx that looped around the aorta, they'd get fired! The marvel is not that we work so well, but that we work at all :)

Atlas HD has been retired two months ago. This video showing as "new" is just a quirk of KZread. It is actually two months old and had been posted when the Atlas HD had retired. Back then there was a link to this video from another video, but otherwise this video was set as "unlisted". Two days ago BD switched the settings for this video from "unlisted" to "public", and KZread now shows as though this video has been posted just two days ago, even though it was really around for two months, as is evident from the age of the oldest comments. This is just how KZread works. Quite confusing!

The progress being made in the field of humanoid robotics is impressive. And the variety of items that Atlas can manipulate rapidly with ease is amazing. You can almost see Atlas performing in a manufacturing environment. However, Atlas can't perform quality control on it's own. What if the muffler has a defect? It would still sort it with the other muffler. Atlas can't check to make sure the items are functioning properly before it sorts them...That's probably where AI will come into play in the future.

OOOOhhhhh! We didn't get to see it fall while crossing the board carrying the tool bag (0:35). WHY? Seriously, though, it was pretty epic. It's not that big of deal, you should have showed them. Maybe do a Bloopers reel and show it then.

It’s funny seeing the bottom half move first when turning to walk into a new direction.. We as humans with our limited peripheral are trained to move our heads first and then our lower body.

The tune is "Tigerblood Jewel - Let's Go Go Go" btw. Royalty free music, but pretty banging nonetheless

Can we have two teams of Atlas playing soccer? Or volleyball? As an Olympic demonstration sport.

That means he has to create a 3D collider when he picks an object to know the limitations. The exhaust pipe was a very impressive demo. I would like to see him handle an organic object, a soft object, and something that can spill (e.g., a bucket of water).

What's not happening is post-action confirmation. "What the hell are you talking about?". For example, the vehicle suspension assembly could roll off the table, the robot doesn't wait to check that it [rolling] doesn't happen. Nor is the environment mitigating the lack of such checks (i.e. holding blocks, etc, etc). Both workforce and environment have to match for complete control even at this AI powered level. I'd love to see the production quality teams work out where dents, scratches, etc have been made!
