I grew up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and let me tell you, this figure was my jam. We had a hill in back of our house and this dude spent all winter doing backflips and 360 spins. He was a defining moment in GIJoe history with his multiple and storable accessories. By the time the Snowcat came out, I was in heaven. Wish I could go back to those times.

Snow Job and the Polar Battle Bear was among my favorites. I loved the polar missions so much my Grandma sewed me jackets for the other joes made out of felt so they could do polar missions too. I wish I still had some of the jackets she sewed.

The artic troops is what got me back into GI Joe. I have them all from Snow Job(1983) to Cold Front(1990). Every vehicle too. The only one I'm missing is Avalanche from '87.

I have clear memories of getting him one of the benefits that my parents enforced because we moved to Germany and we got snow regularly. Which was a big change after moving from Texas.

My mom found a Snow Job torso in Goodwill in 2020. I slowly put him back together with spare parts and help from my friends. He’s not pure white at all, got a nasty crack in one elbow, but he’s my favorite of all the Snow Job clones I have.

This was a fun figure. The skis were a very cool accessory and made him seem a little extra. GI Joe meets Adventure People. Maybe a little silly but as a kid, I really enjoyed him. Nice video. Not sure if video worthy, but those GI Joe accessory packs were great. We all lost bits and bobs so it was great for re-stocking.

Maybe Snow Job was such a con man that he lied about being an Olympics champion and nobody fact-checked him...? Thanks for the great review! One of my favorites as a kid. I loved that he came with so many accessories. Thanks also for explaining the chemical reason why these figures turn yellow. I can't help but find it sad that they are doomed to deteriorate over time.

Snow Job and Snow Serpent were two of the coolest artic troopers ever made. If only Star Wars Snow Trooper hsd the same articulation. Storm Shawdow always had to use his Nine Cutter Head Ninja magic to hang with the Snow Serpernt in artic missions in my backyard in late December early January. The Snow Trooper driving my Hoth Version AT-ST was always on the look out to blast any backyard tresspassers. Hoth Luke in the Snow Speeder was always shot down. And although the AT-ST isn't as heavy, it stil stepped and crushed Luke's downed Snow Speeder. Usually Storm Shadow would raid it for high tech space loot, while Snow Serpent scanned the perimeter on watch. Than the Probe droid would wander too close while, ya know probing, and get cut in half by Snow Sepernts alqays reliable Ak-47. But once he did use his rocket launcher. He just prefers his Ak. This one time, Storm Shadow actually acquired Zartan's laser pistol and shot the Snow Trooper in the head through the open blast shield viewport eye lid of the AT-ST from 150 yards. And of course jacked the AT-ST and wrecked havoc. You didn't know Storm Shadow is a dead eye pistol marksman? We won't talk about how he acquired Zartan's pistol. Something to do with a card game. And guile.

Great review of the original Joe arctic trooper. One important wintery thing about Snow Job compared to all the subsequent winter/arctic figures is that he is almost (with the exception of Whiteout, who was just a half-assed Snow job recolor from 2000) the only Joe equipped to actually go skiing. Blizzard and Windchill also came with skis, but they had no ski poles. Also one notable non-winter mission Snow Job went on in the comics was the original Borovia mission, (where he wore darker gear).

You had the hood on your modern Snow Job misplaced. You have the neck going through the face hole and the face looking out the neck hole. Notice the fur detail. It should be facing forward, not down towards the shoulders.

Another great review, HoodedCobraCommander788! Snow Job is one of my favorite of the vintage Joes. His unique look sold it for me, as he stands out on a shelf like no other Joe. Red beard and a white suit just makes him different from all the rest, and the addition of his skis made him a special purchase. Just an all around interesting character, visually speaking.

A great figure, esp paired with the battle bear! Honestly, could have been sold as a set. Tennessee winters also had little snow. Sears also sold 3 packs. The flag point seemed slightly smaller and was on an area you’d trim off. These were in loose bags, no card backs.

Rutland, Vermont? Nice. One of the most famous Halloween parades takes place their annually (at least I hope it still does). Marvel, Dc and a few other comics always had almost yearly unofficial crossovers set during it. And since GI Joe was set in the Marvel universe for an impressive amount of time I really hope they featured him at it at some point; maybe running into DC's Ice or Mr. Freeze and getting a hand from Ice Man? (I mean they met the Transformers and the Transformers met that certain other Amazing Friend)

Snow Job may have picked a laser rifle for acting as the Designate Marksman of the team, when not so ling shots are needed or he chose it for anti-material purposes. Another sniper using a laser rifle is Sci-fi as at least stated in his last filecard from the Pursuit of Cobra/30th Anniversary line (2011). On the same Pursuit of Cobra (2010) line another Snow Job is introduced and with it's accessories there's an anti-material sniper rifle. That same figure was reissued with the same accessories but with a different painting for the camouflage on the 50th Anniversary line. The head was reused for the Outback on the JoeCon (2014) for the Zombie Iniative box set. Dennis Mathias, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
