@heathconely3573 I mean she's making the explosives herself, that tends to be more dangerous than just using the finished product, especially if we're talking about something made for weapons and not blasting or fireworks or whatever and repurposed. It's not *that* hard to make a compound that is stable and also an effective high explosive but most of the processes involved, especially with out the safety procedures and equipment usually available to manufacturers, are very much not something a DUMB person could do very effectively with out dying. Simply sticking your finger in some of those compounds in their unfinished state can be enough heat to cause an explosion so it's not as if it's the easiest thing to just blunder your way through with out SOME education not to mention many require protective gear and fume extraction gear to make lest you be exposed to acids and various poisons. Depending on what she's actually making she may be VERY skilled in chemistry, chemical processing, and lab safety as well as working with extremely hazardous substances. Most of those things require *years* of study to do safely and while skill at a single subject doesn't automatically mean intelligence it is a decent indicator. She'd have a very successful career in several fields with those cross disciplinary talents actually lol. Mind you she could also be stuffing black powder into balls and it's just written to be effective anyway, it MAY be expecting too much of the show runners to have put that much thought into such a minor thing but if we are going to overthink it anyway then she seems smarter than average at least. xD

Husk's ability to pyschoanalyze people on the spot is severely underappreciated. His ability to read people and tendency to make decisions based on probability from being a proficient gambler definitely lands him in an advantageous position in most situations.

The fact that Zestial isn't one of the overlords Alastor took down, shows that one Zestial is smart enough both in intellect and wisdom to have survived and maintained his power for an unprecedented amount of time. And secondly Alastor is smart enough to know it would be a dumb idea to try to make an enemy of Zestial unlike Vox.

I would actually rank Velvette much higher, whilst she is overly ambitious and headstrong, compared to the other two Vee's she's doesn't have an obvious weakness (Valentino having the emotional capacity of a 13 year-old, and Vox having a literal hate boner for Alastor). However, where she shines is in her ability to read people. She was able to deduce from Carmilla's reaction to what Zestial said that something was up, she then provoked Carmilla using her connection to Zestial to start the Respectless song, and was able to deduce from that fact that the weapon's dealer doesn't want war that she knew something about how the angel died. Velvette I would argue is exceptionally emotionally smart (being able to read and manipulate people) but doesn't have the same experience as the other overlords in warfare.

Velvette is pretty powerful, yeah, but has no experience, her idea of an angelic war is so idiotic that she definitely deserves to get that on her account. She didn't know how to calm Valentino (which, fair, he's completely irrational), during the meeting with the other Vees in Ep. 2, Vox and Valentino were way more useful and it showed just how smart Vox is. Like, who tf would have thought of Sir Pentious considering how unknown he's supposed to be.

Let's be honest everything about Velvette screams died in a car accident at 21 while looking at her phone. She's quite frankly an impulsive and short sighted person who while intelligent enough to figure things out is rubbish at knowing how to use that information beyond a burn book.

@@KestralKuthuleThat's very possible. She's the Youngest Overlord and she definitely has that "I'm better than everyone" attitude. To the point she tries to get a reaction out of the Oldest Overlord. Velvette would get sinners running away because she's an annoying brat. Zestial is a staple of Hell that likely holds far more power than the Vees have.

I reckon all three of the Vees are solidly intelligent but in totally different way. Vox is Business savvy. He’s majorly good at manipulating the masses into believing what he wants them to believe. Valentino is clearly the least intelligent of the three, but is very smart when it comes to trying to build connections. He didn’t instantly kick Charlie out of his studio until after after she proved a hassle and a hazard to his brand. He’s not smart, but I wonder what else his drug can do besides make people feel good. Velvette us very young compared to the other overlords, but she is an expert at reading people and a major influencer as TheAnimeXIII said. She has a solid brand and has yet to show any mental controlling abilities, instead using the media and marketing to bolster her power. This doesn’t make any of them good people, but just proves what a power house they are together.

You can also give Husk credit for knowing the personality flaws of his allies, from Charlie needing to work on her own problems while she's at it, to Angel Dust's facade. He is able to bring out the better in the latter, helping Angel later start to weaken Val's hold on him.

To be honest, one thing about Carmilla is that she is the only one who knew right from the start that Vaggie is an exorcist, and then proceeded to give her a really quick and good reason to move on and forgive herself for lying to Charlie, so this is a lot of points towards that goal. Also, don`t forget that Zestial is the only known overlord to survive Alastor`s massacre of overlords when he goes in power. Just think about that fact, because I get the feeling not many people realize it

Valentino has adequate intelligence based on his ability to read and manipulate people, understanding their needs and how to use them against them. His time spent to count the bills is actually more about horrible eyesight. He is a moth Demon and moths don't have great eyesight, they're actually quite blind, one reason why they are drawn to light. Val needs to wear the glasses to be able to see, but I think even then he is still quite blind, and uses his sense of smell and other senses to see for him. If you're looking at three bills in your hand and you have bad eyesight, it would take you a while to figure out if you're looking at a 5 or a 50, a 10 or a 100, and so on. Especially if, and this is a theory, you are far sighted, which I'm assuming is the best way to describe Val's vision problems as he may be able to see things better from far away rather than up close. He is either really, horribly far sighted that he can barely see things from a distance, or he is quite blind where things look blurry to him no matter the distance. And just to point this out, there are brilliant people out there, like incredibly intelligent people, who suffer with dyslexia and dyscalculia. I don't think that's Val, but I wanted to point that out.

putting cherri lower than Valentino seems wrong to me. she makes her own bombs, AND doesn't explode herself with them. she's also a pretty good fighter..

@@0hiOking1 Watch Alastor's reaction when Zestial first greets him. His eyes get wide and he's visibly nervous. One can argue it's Zestial's aura, but when that moment passes, Alastor still finds ways to avoid looking at him directly when he can (like fixing his tie), and basically tiptoes around the conversation in a far more indirect way than he does with other characters. Zestial is someone Alastor knows can likely use any information he gives out against him. It's not fear as in, "the thought of him keeps me up at night," but fear in the sense of, "this man is a chessmaster, and if I'm not careful, I'm the next piece he captures." Zestial also survived Alastor's initial purge of Overlords, and we know this because he's ancient (via his dialect) and still alive. There are many reasons why that can be, but "he and Alastor fought, Zestial could have won, but spared him, and they're on decent terms because they see each other as worthy opponents" is potentially on that list.

I think cherry deserves to be higher on the list considering she can make the bombs she uses, meaning she atleast has a high level of chemical knowhow, and based on her ability to just have a whole bunch on deck at all times, she likely has enough skill to preform some form of sinner's hammerspace, i don't know if hammer space requires intelligence but with everything else its clear that cherry deserves a higher spot.

Charlie had nothing to do with the extermination getting moved up. That happened because Carmilla killed the angel, and it was only moved up once. I'm not quite sure what the supposed second time it happened was.

There was a second change, but it was more targeting where the extermination would start. Had episode 6 not happened, Adam might've had them casually roam Hell but the court scene made it personal.

Zestial might not default to violence, but given how freaked out the common demons were of him, one guy even lighting himself on fire upon seeing him, there must be some reason he is truly feared. My guess, manifesting a swarm of tiny demon spider minions to devour everything around him when he fights. That would certainly justify the fire.

Zestial is the "Fear the Rage of the Quiet Man" type. He's a calm, collected and pleasant guy. Just make sure you're not the one that pisses him off. You can get more behind you with a fair and kind word than you can with fear. He likely has several powerful Sinners beneath him that have great respect for him.

I doubt Charlie was the reason the extermination got moved up. She was just used as an excuse for it. The real reason is when Adam and Lute discover the dead angel, and decided to ramp up extermination to prevent an uprising.

Husk is underrated. The fact he's able to see through Angel's false facade, able to read everyone's intentions and knows their personality on a different level makes him one of the few characters in Hazbin Hotel having high EQ. He deserves more credit.

Lute really got no business being up that high just because she can follow orders better than Adam

Not a lot of characters in Hazbin Hotel are the most super genius, I mean Valentino literally is trying to go to the hotel with his guns and kill everyone there without thinking things through, that is a pretty dumb move. Luckily Vox is there to put a stop to Val's idea. Plus we know that the Egg Bois are not the brightest either especially that Frank isn't supposed to tell anyone about what he saw during the Overlords Meeting. But I want to know who's a true super genius? Husk is like the wisest of the group, so maybe him of course Zestial is the oldest Overlord so he's definitely the most intelligent.😅😬🤔🧠

I don't know if anyone noticed this,but when Zestial appears for the first time he asks Aladtor if he perhaps has fallen into "holy arms",and tge audience is lead to believe that he is atlking about Alastor staying at the Hotel,but,what if,Zestial actually managed to somehow figure out that someone REALLY powerful has Alastor on a leash,and the "holy arms" is a hint to that?

No, 'Holy Arms' refers to angels, like, dead during an extermination. At least I think. So, correct me if it's otherwise.

16:28 Alastor ticks all of the boxes for being a psychopath, he manipulates people through words in ways that geniuses do.

Technically Charlie didn't caused the extermination to be moved up. It was pre-determined because Carmilla killed one of the angels. And 5 months passed since Episode 4-5, so that's why Adam said 1 month.

I was about to shoot my screen when Alastor wasn’t #1, then I realized it was Zestial and went “Oh… fair enough”

“We can’t act without more intelligence,” is the one quote to prove Zestial’s intellect. He kept such a calm head when even Carmilla lost her temper. From what little we saw of him, he showed that he’s got brain power and tact but also emotional intelligence. He implored his long time friend to share her load. Also, speaking in Shakespearean English makes him also seem poetically intelligent. AND he’s got that perfect level of man sass. When he sips his tea so loud it stops Velvette from talking? Love it.

Man, not putting Carmilla in first put feels like a crime. If she hadn't realized that angels could be kill by there own weapons, nobody not even alastor nor zestial would've been able to prevent the on-going extermination. So despite her temper Tandrum I'd still give her the gold metal.

but it wasn't like she took on some shrewd investigative journalism about it or anything. she'd been collecting these weapons for how many years and never even tried to use them against the angels until they were coming for her daughters? how did they survive that many exterminations before unless she got careless being out in the open? she stumbled on the solution basically by accident and then instead of collaborating with the overlords to make best use of the knowledge, she tried to cover it up, leaving all of hell to continue to suffer.

Until we see more of characters such as Lilith or Root, its safe to say that this list is accurate and fair, In terms of all types of intelligence, it would seem that . Book-Smarts would be Sir Pentious . Street smarts goes to Husk Emotional intelligence goes to either Charlie or Emily . Entrepreneurial probably goes to Vex . Intimidation or "powerful" goes to Alastor . Most Innovative goes to Lucifer . Wisest and most collected to Zestial

Charlie did not move up extermination day at all. Adam had already decided too because Carlmilla has killed an angle in the previous extermination

But Heaven’s decision to move the extermination up wasn’t Charlie’s fault right? I thought the extermination moved up was because Adam and Lute found out an extermination angel was beheaded. So technically it’s Carmella’s fault that the extermination moved up considering she’s the one who killed the angel (though to protect her daughters)

You are correct , Charlie's presence there didn't change a thing , nor for the positive nor negative . I don't even know why Lucifer told her to meet Adam in the first place , correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't even know what Charlie was up to until episode 5 so what was the point of Charlie meeting Adam ? Maybe he knew that she despised the exterminations but didn't know about the hotel so that was the reason he sent her to speak to Adam but even then after what Lucifer did to Adam , pretty much screwed him over 2 times with his 2 wives why would he think that Adam would even entertain a single thing Charlie had to say ? That whole meeting just didn't make sense to me from a logical point of view . While I did enjoy the show , there are a lot of moments where things just didn't make any logical sense and was played more of a joke as to why something is the way it is or it was simply ignored .

Sera did tell Emily that Hell was uprising ( whatever that meant exactly ) we don't know but I assume Lilith was responsible for it as she was empowering sinners and demons so this is where I assume that Heaven needed to do something about Hell and Adam pitched the idea of the exterminations and Sera approved it and Lucifer agreed to it as long as his family is untouched , that is what makes most sense to me . As to why was Lilith likely in Heaven , well I assume Adam told her if she backs off and let the angels have an easier time with killing sinners that he will allow her to stay in Heaven .

At first I was mad Alastor didn't get gold, then instantly agreed of Zestial getting top.

7:35 I wouldn't say Charlie got the exterminations moved up on either occasion. The first time, ADAM called the first, implying HE was the one that had a reason for such a meeting, Charlie just took the opportunity to try and pitch her hotel. He was ALWAYS bumping up the extermination after they found out one of their exterminators was k!ll3d. Yes, they only find proof of the slain angel AFTER the meeting, but I'm guessing they have some form of checklist or head count so that they KNOW they were missing an exterminator (or, you know, we see in Carmilla's flashback there were like four other exterminators around to witness the reverse UNO murd3r). As for the second time, he didn't even MOVE UP that extermination, he just explained he and the exorcists were targeting Charlie's hotel first. And, considering Adam told all the exterminators before the attack that he wanted to specifically target VAGGIE, I'm assuming he had always planned to attack them first as soon as he saw Vaggie was still alive.

Zestial is definitely the smartest that is just a fact. He’s been around since the 1500-1600 so he’s definitely got a lot of experience. Plus he’s strategic enough to have survived the exterminations for so long. That and alastors purge.

I have two theories in case you do a theory video for season two. The first one is the identity of who owns alastors soul: Many people want to say lillith due to both her and alastor being gone for seven years. And although thats definitely suspicious, I feel thats supposed to be a red herring as plot twists keep coming up to keep us on our toes. So who is more likely? Zestial. He seems to know alastor really well where they can walk the street with each other without one getting angry. Alastor is very intelligent do if Zestial owns alastors soul, he would know that he needs to be friendly to his master so that anger doesn't snap back. Zestial seems to know more about alastor due to Zestial being rumored to be from the 1500s due to his design and voice. However if he doesn't own the radio demon's soul then he would know who does. My second theory is Zestial may have vital knowledge on the main cast and can confirm theories of characters or how his story ties into the others. Due to his age and him being arguably the highest overlord (carmilla seemed either scared of Zestial when he was disrespected and didn't want him angry or has high respect for him.)

Yes, Emily is smarter than charlie, but is she that smart? I think the fact that she didn't find out about the extermination for so long puts lute and sera (at least) ahead of her. (Note: she didn't actually manage to convince the angels, while Rosie somehow gained the respect of SUSAN)

One thing about Lucifer falling, I've seen a clip where Sera mentioned that she didn't want Emily to question things and end up fallen like Lucifer. So I'm thinking there might be something a bit darker going on here

Rank the episodes of season 1 Worst to Best. IMO the best episode… is also the hardest to watch. What an emotional roller coaster. One moment you’re laughing then you’re crying out of fear and sadness and then there’s the impressive fight against the shark gangsters, and a little bit of Chaggie cuteness sprinkled in. Such an amazing episode as difficult as it is.

Correction: at ep 6 charlie did not move the extermination up, theres just a time skip from 4-5, i think same goes for ep 1 but im not sure on that one

The changes to Extermination are not Charlie's doing at any level. To begin with because it is not she who makes the decisions on this subject, but mainly because the date has only moved once. The reason the Extermination was brought forward is because one of the exterminating angels was killed, something that had never happened before. In episode 6, it's just time that has passed and the only change is that Adam decided to specifically attack the Hotel. Everything had already been decided by Heaven, Charlie was only informed.

Can anyone tell me what the link in the captions at the Sir Pentious part is?

While I do mostly agree with your placement in this, I do think that you forgot some things: 1. Charlie wasn't the one who caused the extermination to happen sooner. 2. Just like other comments have said, Velvette was able to instantly notice how Carmilla was acting odd about the angel head and used it to her advantage (she made Carmilla cut the meeting short). 3. Alastor's intelligence can also be seen with his ability to pinpoint with deadly accuracy the insecurities of those around him. He's able to identify just what people need to hear and coax them into doing what he wants (not many people seem to realize that when he makes a deal with Vaggie he's using a foot in the door technique).

As an alibi for Pentious, he was born in the steampunk age and probably didn’t know about daddy being sexualized

Yeah I wouldn’t expect to know him given that he didn’t go to places often where that was said and that he died in 1888

Most of the characters are more on the street smarts than anything else, and in different degrees. Charlie for example, has more emotional maturity that most of her peers (she rationalized that Angel was upset and forcing him back to the hotel would only push him away- but considered his safety regardless) but she is incredibly naive, to the point it can create tunnel vision. Vaggie has street smarts and it's efficient- but again, she has girlfriend tunnel vision, so puppy eyes can break her. Ironically, the one more aware of the bunch is Angel- the moment he saw Sir Pentious he went full "hold on- you telling me we letting people that tried to kill us TODAY to live with us?!" but because of his aloofness to the overall situation (in that time) he let it go lmao

She had nothing to do with it being moved up. the meeting she was called to was to TELL HELL they are doing it...they were already going to move it to 6 months before Adem ever met Charlie second....moved up a second time?...it never got moved up a second time, but it did admittedly get shifted to prioritize the hotel when it started..but that's still not charlie getting it moved up I get the show played pretty fast and loose with the passage of time but yeah. there wasn't a second bump up. and the first one wasn't remotely Charlie's fault

Calling it now: if he does Helluva Boss…I really want to say Stolas is at the top, but he might be too socially awkward and end up suffering the Pentious sentence. You could also make arguments for Asmodeus and Moxxie, but again they’ve got their flaws. Dumbest….I really wanna say Chaz Mammon and Blitz.

ALASTOR is the #1 we can agree, but age matters. He's old and we kinda know more about ALASTOR who btw, may as well be the main character. When I first heard of Hazbin and saw the pilot I though ALASTOR was the main.
