Idk man. I understand others think about the song in other ways, but I personally like the screamo rock style for the song. When you think about it, it kinda makes sense because it can give a sense of despair and madness, which is exactly what Angel is going for. The song is about his battle with addiction, and while the lyrics sound like he loves being high, you *know* that deep down he's just trying to get out, and it's a goddamn heartwrenching thing to do it's so hard. With that kind of despair, you feel the need to scream and go hard to let out emotions that were bottled up. I probably could've explained this better if I wasn't so tired from schoolwork 😅, and I'm sure a bigger fan would've done it even better instead of someone who considers it an okay series instead of acclaim-deserving like myself, but that's just my input

If you want to look into Chi-Chi, she's done a lot of collabs with people like Caleb Hyles, DA Games, and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head. Chi-Chi also has an incredibly impressive range, so I highly recommend checking out the channel.

Yeah, this is a harder version of the original song that isn't suited to a tonal shift into that softer, introspective, vulnerable final verse. It's a good part of (well, technically a retroactive addition to) the original song, but the original song (and its music video) mixed in softer and quieter bits so the tonal shift at the end doesn't feel totally out of place. It wouldn't work here the same way because both its sound and message are antithetical to a harder rock cover. (And you couldn't change the sound of it without basically invalidating the meaning of the verse, and along with it any point to keeping the verse in.)

People who keep complaining (slightly) that he didnt do the end part... here's why. The whole song is Angel and Cherri showing how they coup with there pains and sins. The end part is suppose to show Angel's sadness and pain... how he REALLY feels. you cant have it be rock like this... and still get the same emotion as the original. Sad songs have very light, soft, and slow notes.

Normally, it's difficult to adapt a song as electronic as Addict into a good version of Rock and Roll, but you managed to pull it off, quite well. I approve.

I like Caleb's version more. When most people do a PG cover they just choose not to say those scawwy cuwse wowds but Caleb didn't, he found proper replacements that keep the song flowing, possibly flowing even better than when they are there.

Michael, angel's va, is singing in his angel voice which is harder than singing normally, plus Nate is a regular singer while michael is more of a voice actor.

why does nate actually work as angel

I'm admittedly something of a purist when it comes to music. Often not into cover songs, finding that they usually lack the raw emotion poured into the original. But, damn, Nate! You really blew me away. ^^ I've basically always loved your voice, but it feels like you really kicked it up a notch, here, stepping into territory that I wouldn't maybe have expected you to. Thank you, though, for doing such an electrifying duet, and doing justice to the song. Hazbin hits so many people in a strangely deep place. Thank you for contributing to the fandom, and this song. Seriously. The last time I loved a cover this much was Disturbed's rendition of 'Sound of Silence,' that held 50k RockFest attendees in muted awe. I don't know of a higher compliment I can give than that.

It's in reverse for me. It's usually seems like covers are slightly better unless it's gender changing ones A lot of instrumental changes Or a genre shift. It can work, but a lot of the times it feels cluttered

I'm a rock/heavy metal person. The angry vibe coupled with the pounding beat makes me want to listen to it. In my absolute honest opinion, the start of the chorus doesn't fully sit with me, as it feels uneven. THE REST IS A FUCKING BANGER! Despite that one point I made, I still love this. @NateWantsToBattle and @LeeandLie, you did a fantastic job! I listen to it while racing in my games, and it often fits so well! Keep this up. I'm honoured to be blessed by your magnificent creation.

This is legendary, best of the covers and I'd say as good if not better than the original. Absolutely love it.
