Haystacks & Fleetwith Pike from Honister Slate Mine 11th May 2017

We parked at Honister slate mine. we followed the quarry road up and then took the path across the stream towards haystacks passing Blackbeck & innominate tarn. we then retraced our steps back towards the quarry road and took the path up to fleetwith Pike and then came back along another path towards the slate mine. A brilliant walk with some amazing views

I'm so pleased I found your video of this route. I've been trying to research for the finer weather, and find more accessible routes for these types of walks. Thank you for sharing 😊🙏

Hiya Leona and Chris, really enjoying your walks in the Lakes, love the way you just film the walk with a few stills, simple but very effective. Nice rhythm and energy. ATB. Jim.

Jim Holden thank you very much, we usually don’t have time to fath about as most walks like this one we have to be home for the kids. This one we had to pick them up from school. You don’t need to do much with the Lake District it’s beautiful in all seasons ❤️ but this was a beautiful day thanks for watching and commenting ATB Leona and Chris

Similar walk to us on Sunday but we set off from Gatesgarth Farm and went straight up Fleetwith Pike and did a round. Both tarns were an idea for a wildcamp, as was the bothy and was thinking of taking my grandson with me in the summer but the ascent may be too much for him, the route we took and the thought of my camping bag that way as well....The route up you took to Haystacks for the slate mine, looked a lot less steep? Can you park at Honister Pass overnight do you know? Great hike and the same weather as we got on Sunday as well, brilliant. Cheers Alan

it's a great track up a little steep but not the steep you have to gasp for breathe on. it's a perfect path to wild camp up to, not sure about parking overnight i have just asked another you tuber who did a wild camp that very same question lol. when you came off fleetwith that's the way we went but it took 20 mins roughly to get to the part that leads to haystacks from honister. So yes it's a lot easier hope that makes sense ATB leona and chris

Hi thanks for watching and commenting. we did this walk in a school pick up time so it's about 4 hours walking roughly. it's a brilliant walk a few ups and downs but a lovely way into Haystacks and onto Fleetwith. It's one we will do again. Hope you have a great walk ATB Leona and chris
