Hayden rants about D&D balance for 12 minutes and 32 seconds

Just a one-off video I decided to clip from my last stream. I've played D&D for a long time now and somebody asked me about which class I thought was "the lamest"

My bladesinger with a 2 level dip into paladin is my favorite build ive ever ran. Our warlock was gifted Illusionists bracers and I managed to convince him to let me use the bracers for a day, at level 8 (6 wizard 2 paladin) I could pop shadowblade then on the next turn hit 2d8 + 4d8 smite, extra attack Booming blade 2d8 + 1d8 thunder + 4d8 smite then the bracers kick in and you can cast booming blade as a bonus action 2d8 + 1d8 + 4d8 and if any of those crit you can use your single 4th level spell slot to upgrade that last 4d8 into 5d8 even without a crit thats still... 20d8 or 21d8 if you use 4th level smite for 1 hit + your modifier times 3 which is usually 5-7 at this point. 21d8 + 15-21 damage in a single turn is BONKERS, but then youre all out of your top level spell slots :/ It's fun as fuck to bust it out on a boss though also, with shadowblade its pretty easy to force advantage and you can do some crit-fishing

Bladesinger is a nutty subclass. I had a level 12 wizard for one campaign and the power is crazy. I can see it getting out of hand combined with paladin.
