Blood, sweat and tears go into most build projects, mostly blood! I’m glad Hayden was OK, big boys toys come with big boy “booboo’s” sometimes, remind him to always keep body parts behind the direction of tool travel in future.

There's a safety lesson to be learned as a result of the accident - keep ALL of your body parts behind the nail gun. Haydn was very fortunate, it could have been much worse.

A classic through and through builders injury, luckily no major damage. Good to get it properly treated and get the ACC done just in case. Hayden did well, initial heck I've hurt myself, followed by the get a camera moment, gotta capture this!

I'm glad it was not any worse. Hayden is always in good spirits. Letting the doctor take it out was a better idea for sure. Wishing all goes well as he continues. The house looks great.

Nicely done. Yeah you could have yanked out yourself but worry about a infection is the biggest concern that I would have. So glad it was a minor puncture. I have seen this happen with Brad nails on many of my projects. So this is a first for that size of a nail. So glad you are OK, and Karen he is a tough old bird. After all he wanted you to get the camera for proper memory retention of the of this little surprise. Take care you two. And thanks for sharing.

Hayden yells get the camera -get the camera. When you are a KZread blogger it is all about content. When you started the video and said Hayden had accident putting up one of the walls I expected it was going to be something serious. Glad to learn he is ok -Unfortunately accidents do happen however careful we might r be

Glad you saved the removal, Drs like pulling them out themselves. My former partner took the end of his thumb off with a hatchet, stuff happens, you just have to stay calm to be able to deal with it. You all did a fine job. House is coming along nicely.

As a woodworker I’ve had several incidents that many would call accidents. In fact to my way if thinking they were not accidents because all of these incidents were preventable. The incidents were caused by poor judgement. To make things worse one type of the incident(table saw blade) happened twice. Fortunately other than scars there was no permanent damage. The reports now issued by news organizations concerning automobiles running into another object are now referred to as a crash and not an accident. Listen to these reports and note if there is a change. I’m glad you are ok man. Your video is really a public service message. You might make the lives of knuckleheads like me around the world a little less “accident” prone. NC in USA

Haydn was very lucky and right to let A&E deal with the nail. You can do more harm than good sometimes, trying to remove it yourself. Mind yourself Haydn. You’ve got a lot going on there with that build.

Ouch! Typical kiwi bloke. "She'll be right mate". I remember we were on our holiday, hubby me and 3 kids. Hubby got out of the car door and a thin branch on a tree whipped back and went right into the whites of his eye. He broke off the branch, I drove to the nearest dr, they pulled it out, patched his eye. Back at the car he ripped off the patch and said I'm driving lol he lost all the fluid from his eye socket but after several days it refilled and he healed. Reece is such an explorer.

All of us who do DIYare well aware of the dangers of such lethal tools as railguns, but we are usually in a hurry to get jobs done. I'm glad Hayden is ok and hope they gave him a Tetanus shot. Somehow, I don't think it will slow him down too much. But the big question is Karen did you "kiss it better " that was my Mum's remedy for things from scraped knees to broken wrists as a kid like Reese So take care Hayden,I know you do Karen Love to you all from A colourful fall in Canada X

Luckily, Worksafe have no jurisdiction when it’s the home owner doing things on his own property. There has to be a PCBU before Worksafe can get involved, and ‘home occupiers’ are not. So no ticket on the scaffolding either, if it’s mine and I put it together.
