Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Zcars built hayabusa turbo powered suzuki cappuccino, accelerating - first time out since big brake upgrade, new large DTA Dash...roof is off so fair but of wind noise polluting the sound of the engine

    It has an Elite Racing MX200 rear diff, which means you first select direction, (forward or reverse), then you can work through the gears, 1-6. This does mean that you can reach some serious speed in reverse, unlikely to ever try it though!

    Still the slickest little roadster on KZread imo. Best of all worlds, small displacement, high compression, lightweight, technological masterpiece. I ended up buying a Jimny instead of a Cappi but now I'm lusting for a Cappi. Best looking roadsters ever, nothing even comes close and the geometry and design is really snappy nimble stuff. Overall world-beater material. Yours is the best, and the fighter engineering Cappi is in 2nd place.

    @@warhoo4721 Steering wheels being tilted like that are usually a result of alignment. Most steering wheels are keyed, and you have to set them straight - then align the car. While I admire the idea of this engine swap, the tilted steering wheel speaks volumes as to the attention to detail. Video is from 6 years ago - hopefully the suspension, brakes, etc, have been upgraded to handle the power.

    That's probably how you hold the wheel straight if you're too big for the car 😅

  • @barking.dog.productions1777

    @barking.dog.productions1777

    4 жыл бұрын

    @PunchingMegaTree I realize that they are splined - they are also usually keyed meaning that 1 spline or groove is wider than the others. As I said an off center wheel is usually because you didn't have the wheel straight when you did the alignment.

  • @barking.dog.productions1777

    @barking.dog.productions1777

    4 жыл бұрын

    @PunchingMegaTree I'm not that familiar with Japanese vehicles, probably since most of them have less problems where the steering wheel needs to be removed, but most American manufacturers key their steering wheels... Been an auto mechanic for 30+ years and I honestly can't recall ever having to pull the steering wheel on a Japanese car. lol So, I believe you have no reason to lie about it. Not sure what you are talking about in the hassle to remove a steering wheel part? It is pretty straight forward to me... Pull the crap off the front, remove the nut, and use a steering wheel puller to get the wheel loose. It takes maybe 20 minutes. It takes more time to get all the pieces back into place properly, but the whole job is an hour at most. You are correct that some actual front end parts such as pitman arms are uniformly splined and can have the same result if a part is removed or replaced. Most vehicles today use rack and pinion and those are also keyed at that end of the steering shaft. Let's be honest... The manufacturer doesn't key the shaft to make our job easier. They do it to reduce cost and screw-ups in the assembly line. That is also why they do other things that seem stupid to the end consumer such as using plastic T fittings in the cooling system that will harden and break over time. A penny saved here, and a dime saved there adds up to $100 saved per vehicle X 100,000 vehicles... that is real money. Plus, they usually almost break even at the time of sale, and they rely on parts and service sales to make the actual profit. A good example: GM vehicles have the bolts on the tilt steering back off all the time. GM could just put locktite on them, since it is a known problem - but then I would lose that simple work. Engineered obsolescence... it is all designed to break at some point to save manufacturing cost and to get that repair money.

    After all that engineering I'd have installed an actuator on the clutch, as well as for up and down shifts. The only trick would be to make it launch smoothly from standstill, but for that you can still use a foot-operated pedal. Once you're going, it's tap right for up, and tap left for down.

    Nice setup and nicely integrated gear shifter and display. What I am noticing though is that it seems to deliver most of its power at high revs - i.e. low torque at low revs. That's a useful engine characteristic for a bike, but for a car I think it would take away a bit of the fun especially for everyday driving.
