I think it helps them being older. A lot of people don’t realize/know but JT (vocalists) is 45. They were already into there mid-late 20’s Befor there popularity took off in the early 2000’s

It had old architects vibes that’s probably why.

This really recaptures some of the magic of those first 2 albums that's just been missing from post-Casey Hawthorne Heights. And I'm not talking about the vocals here. I'm mainly talking about the structure of the riffs and the guitar tone. There really was a special sound that The Silence in Black and White had that was centered around that guitar tone that was signaturely Hawthorne Heights. I mean I've been here the whole time. Look through my record collection and you can see that much. I have every album. But I always wished they would bring back that sound that was so uniquely theirs.

The sound was taken with Casey. But it was so much more than that. Post-hardcore/emo/screamo whatever you wanna call it most certainly suffered a massive bludgeon. Things have never been the same since late 2007.

I'm glad they've carried on and decided to stay a band. I'm glad they evolved their sound, to try and reinstate themselves after losing Casey, such an integral part of the band. They aren't able to do as much with one guitar less, and while I appreciate the other unclean vocalists they've had, it's never going to be the same. It's not the same Hawthorne Heights, but not for a lack of trying. They said they'd never replace Casey and they never have. They're still a four-piece band and will probably remain that way until JT decides to call it quits.

Well said and I agree. The IT factor was back minus Casey RIP . It's what us loyal fans have been waiting for since the first two albums.

BRENDAN. Damn, I really didn't expect to see him on a Hawthorne Heights track, this is SICK. Hawthorne Heights is already a banger but Brendan makes everything 10 times better. Counterparts is my favorite band 👍

Hawthorne heights was my favorite emo band growing up. I remember Casey Calvert as well as their album “the silence in black and white” which was the greatest emo album of all time.
