Haworth 1940s Weekend - Saturday 17th May

Enjoy Saturday 17th May 2014 or is it 1944...Affiefilms spends a beautiful day in the historic town of Haworth.
Haworth is hosting its two day 1940s weekend, and as you will see everybody has come out to enjoy the event, while paying tribute to the past.

    my mum was evacuated here in ww11 and lived in Haworth until the war ended ,its nice to see where she lived in those times ,Number 10 main street was her address and it is now a lovely tea shop.

    I love it. My parents were born in the 30s, however all of my Uncles served in World War two, several were stationed in England and participated in D Day. As an American today, I wish I could attend this festival. With war time rationing, I don't think many of the delicious treats presented would have been available back then.

    It was wonderful we arrived in Haworth as part of of holiday to the uk and all this was going on just fantastic.

    I just happened upon this video on accident. It was fascinating and enjoyable to watch. The two little dogs sitting on the Union flag at the end were just too adorable!!🙂

    Ahh.. the mass 1940s 'fun' events. 2%accuracy, 98% increasingly bizarre surrealist fantasy. How can a people be so worryingly divorced from any cultural or social knowledge of their own recent history? The ignorance is staggering.
