Hawkwind - 1986 Reading Festival (As broadcast by the BBC)
Музыка
I used to really enjoy listening and indeed recording the BBC Radio 1 In Concert series on a Saturday evening during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. I also caught a few BBC Radio Friday Rock Show and Capital Radio sessions. I still have the cassette tapes and as the BBC has no immediate plan to make these available to the public I have decided to release close to 250 of these historical recordings on my KZread channel.
I know this was released on CD but this was recorded from original radio broadcast.

I was there ... a couple of months before I was sent to prison for growing a few plants... heard the gig again on BBC while I was inside ... brightened me up I must say. Back in the daze !!!
Best Hawkwind gig fom the 80s. They were cooking at this point. Huw Lloyd Langton & Alan Davey in the Band cooking with Brock here. HLL was savagely underrated as a guitarist.

Haven't enjoyed Hawkwind since the departure of Alan Davey.... He was a great engine, composer, arranger and producer.
I was there. Wonderful time.
got this on bootleg and was there.... one of my favourite live hawkwind albums....
I was at this Festival and this performance; a Warm Sunny Afternoon. Sadly because they came on before it was dark it affected the lighting show. Really rocked but my friends and I were a tad worse for wear so memories are 'patchy'.Oh! for the wild days of youth eh!🙃
i was there...tripping and chillum mixing....
This came on at 9pm on a Friday surely! | remember Tommy Vance saying " Coming up at 9live from Reading if you`re waiting to push a button" What do i know about anything i suppose, bleeding 17 at the time! Smokin` Gold Seal !
Was at this gig, and had the most amazing night of my life. Miss those days.
I was there and this recording takes me right back! Great sound quality. Oh man - ecstatic to hear this again. Hawkwind at their absolute best for me. Such freakin’ energy! Such drive from the rhythm guitar, Huw - will ALWAYS

Watch out for the 'Dreamworkers of Space' release in March. It has the Friday rock sessions, 22 April 1988 the one with Lemmy singing Silver Machine-The Hammersmith 88 BBC In concert broadcast, and the 1986 Reading concert, all remastered. Also, some other broadcast stuff on CD three.

Taped it off the radio and bought the CD. Great performance. Good days.
Always loved this set - real heavy Hawkwind. Had the tape from TV radio, then CD, then chucked it when Spotify had it, now they removed it FFS!
Quality, got the cassette recording from the Tommy Vance show Friday nights,
That was a great set! I was there, doing the lighting :) Sounds pretty good 34 years on...

Brainstorm into Dream Worker is phenomenal. ❤
Wow how much Lemmy's voice changed in14 yrs
I was there that day.
Hawkwind in their 'heavy metal' phase. Good performance though
Great gig, indeed. They were on top shape in those years, circa 1985/86, with Huw Lloyd-Langton, Harvey Bainbridge and Alan Davey... *Thank you* for uploading this ! What does Dave Brock say at the end of Dust of Time, circa 41:40 ? Goodnight...what ?
