Unfortunately yesterday - August 14th 2022 - this beautiful bird flew it's final flight... 😥 During the air show in Cheb, while performing flybys for the audience, the plane crashed in a nearby field, killing its pilot - an experienced 58 years old Petr Pačes (also seen in this video). This was a very sad and heartbreaking moment to witness and our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Petr, we wish you godspeed in heaven and Rest in Peace! 🙏

That is sad news. Love to him and family.
the unsung hero of the battle of britain , beloved by polish and Czechoslovakian pilots . Thanks for a lovely vid . god bless all those pilots who gave up their lives for us in the u.k.
Lovely, never tire of hearing the Merlin at take off power!. Loved the reverence shown by the ground crew gently rolling her out prior to take off.
Does anybody else like the Hurrican better than the Spitfire?

I actually prefer the Bf-109 E to either.

@@markcook4043 not really that easy , especially under 15000 feet. 109 had a climb and speed advantage at higher altitudes but down lower things were a bit more competitive.

@@markcook4043 272. 153. I found some numbers but I don’t know how a accurate they are. Of Hurricane vs Bf-109 encounters .. 272 Hurricanes were lost compared to 153 109s. From a site called "History of war” article named "Hawker Hurricane in combat” Not sure how accurate that is though.

@@markcook4043 Yeah I am aware of Molders feelings about it.. I have quite a collection of good books on the Luftwaffe and it’s pilots. "The first and the Last” by Adolph Galland is a good read. Why the comment about War Thunder ? That is a game I assume.

@ Mark Cook. Why did you delete all your comments? Are you scared? Did I intimidate you? Sorry.
I literally saluted when that old war bird left the ground!
My favorite aircraft of WW2. So beautiful and such an incredible history. Thanks for the video.
Naprostá paráda! Úžasná mašina.👍 Hurricane je něco úžasnýho, přitom trochu opomíjený letadlo.

Very sorry to hear that. Many condolences to the pilot's family and colleagues.
Very nice, sounds great with the headphones turned up.
In the gloomy grey darkest time, the hurricane blows out the clear blue skies for the lands of Britain.
That Merlin = the sound of freedom
Just watched this again this evening & read a comment. Very sad to hear about the death of the pilot plus the Hurricane. Sincere condolences to the family.
Amazing, Hurricanes are my favourite warplane ever. It remindes me of Aces high by Iron maiden.
Fabulous. Hurricane pilots shot down more bombers than the Spitfire, though this is also due to the Spitfire being tasked with taking on the fighters. Such an important aircraft and overlooked for all the wrong reasons. Obviously, it's an older construction method but more able to take damage and easier to repair (and manufacture). Without the pilots wouldn't have been much use. We were lucky to have RAF, Polish, Czech, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South Africa pilots, even the odd American (before they declared war). Lets also not forget the Indian and Carribean pilots and the many other nationalities that I have forgotten to mention. All were vital.

You are so correct. Had it not been for the Hurricane, we may all be speaking German now.

True to a point but bombers were not easy to shoot down as they just soaked up bullets like a sponge. Also quite a few fighters fell at the hands of Hurricanes. Make them even greater in my opinion.

The hurricanes were quite poor planes in reality. They succeeded through numbers and radar assisted tactics. Another case where history is written by the victor.

@@smokeonthewater5287 I think you should read the biographies of pilots such as Robert Stanford Tuck and Douglas Bader pilots that flew both Hurricanes and Spitfires. I also think you'll find that although radar was very useful at the time of the Battle of Britain it was in its infancy unlike today's radars back then they could be inaccurate. Many historians and documentary makers miss out on the incredibly vital role that the Royal Observer Corp played in giving accurate counts and courses of enemy aircraft. I really think you should put in a bit of time on research before making what is a very inaccurate statement.

@@honymonster30 I trust the assesment of the pilots who shot the hurricanes down more than the pilots who flew it...
love those Merlin engines and both the Hurricane and Spitfire and Mustang
Now that's one beautiful rugged Aircraft. Most popular in the Battle Of Britain also the Middle East and Asia. The shape is just superb. Favourite British Bird.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
I am impressed x

This avesome plane unfortunately no longer exist and this pilot died on aeroshow in Cheb 1 day before. R. I. P. Peter.
JX-E Hurricane - Karel "Kut" Kuttelwascher. The best Czechoslovakian pilot of WV II - 18 destroyed enemy aircrafts.
Great pilot 👍

I think the tailwheel tyre pressure is low.
RIP 😪
👍 👍 👍!!
I have a question about the Hurricane Mk IV. It could have four 20 mm cannon in the wing or two 40 mm cannon beneath the wing. In the 40 mm cannon version, what happened to the 20 mm cannon? Were the 20 mm and 40 mm cannon an either/or option: could you have 20 mm cannon or 40 mm cannon but not both? And if that is correct and you had 40 mm cannon under the wing, what armament (if any) was in the wing? Some WW II fighter buff likely knows the answer.

I think it's an 'either' option. So you can have 20s or 40s but not both. But alongside the 40s they also had bomb/s. It all depended on the role. 40s and bombs were mostly anti-tank role. Those with 20s also had machineguns and were all-purpose fighters. But as I recall the Hurri never really was an anti-aircraft fighter, more of a CAS role (close air support).
R.I.P
Pretty sure that’s a IIC, not a IV.
Yes. A rugged and stable gun platform that could also take punishment and make it back in most circumstances. Better wide spaced undercarriage for taking off and landings. SL.
Today it crashed. RiP
The Jerries would be heading back to France by now . 😂
Gentlemen prefer Hurricanes.
One minute ten to start the engine, you'll have to do better than that, the Luftwaffe are already on their way home.
