How is he eating so calmly on your fist without any jesses and without any training and during the daylight? Usually it take some days of falconry training to get to that stage. Are you a falconer?

No, I'm not a falconer. From the beginning he sat so calmly on my hand and ate out of my hand. Even landed on my hand without training. I kept him under observation for a few days after the crash to make sure everything was okay with him and then released him. I think he was so calm because he already knows me. He always comes to get pigeons and sees me.😅

Yes, it's all the same hawk. Last year he had different plumage because he was very young. As they grow up, they change color. But I still saw these reddish colors on the feathers in various places. After the third crash he finally learned. He only flies up to the roof when hunting. He no longer dares to fly any further down than he used to.

A couple of years ago I was minding my own business, quietly soaking my feet in hot water in front of the TV, as you do, before being startled by the sound of... shattering glass! In the lounge - RIGHT ABOVE MY HEAD - was, of all things...a circling wood pigeon! I kid you not! It circled around the light fitting before careering straight back out through the window that it had just completely smashed on its way in, the moral of the incident is... watch out for low-flying pigeons!!!!!! Grrreat video that you captured!

I was wondering what actually alerted you to these aerial pursuits? I think the goshawk must have been a falconer's bird at one point.
