I swear, Amazon has to have sold MILLIONS of these around the world by now. EDIT : Everyone knows the Chinese bikes are cheap, let's face it, but you guys LOVE them. I am 53 and I see Amazon bikes as a whole new generation of Harley Davidson ; You HAVE to wrench on it, and each time the relationship between you and your iron horse grows stronger. That's what I see.
Truly the Hi-Point of motorcycles.

I did a quasi supermoto upgrade by purchasing an amazon 19” front rim with Shinko 705s tires. Bolted right on with no other mods. Great job on your conversion.

i'll tack this onto the list of mods beyond my scope, but still was great to watch. i felt that "laying in yard" frustration lol
Sweet, the Super duper Hawk.
When we put a 08 ninja 250 motor in my buddies TBR-7 we changed the bearings to fit the hawks axle size. No serious modifications for the 08 ninja wheels. More modifications needed to be made to fit the ninja 250 brakes. Wish we would have had the XR250R suspension and swing arm that’s on it now when we did the motor and sumo tires. Had to switch bearings again when we upgraded the suspension. Nice build brother. Edit: the 17s and street tires do make a huge difference. My recommendation is do the XR shock forks and swingarm mod. Even bigger difference than the sumo tires
That was fun. Your work paid nicely. Looks badass. That rear axle mod would be good for any hawk rider.
This was awesome. Super entertaining and relatable. Great work man!

i love your content so much bro
Like the work you did and now you definitely have a much higher quality set of wheels than oem. That being said though for the trouble, you could have gone with bigger tires and a beefier bearing from Niko or another high quality bearing distributor and saved a lot of money and time. I guess now though you wont ever have to worry about spokes which will definitely be nice.
What a great video… I love your storytelling! #Goals
CSC is a CA China bike store that sells supermoto wheels that fit the TT250 witch is a HAWK with CA smog stuff, 16" SG250 wheels would save you a lot of work if someone wants to do this with out brake mods and grinding metal😉 love the big bore vid🙂

Dude, you did the most excellent job imaginable considering you have basic tools to work with. You didn't get sloppy on anything. It's all too easy to drill a hole out too wide. Your tolerances would be Jet Propulsion Labratory acceptable. As you can guess, I am all too familiar with Chinese engineering. Right now it is the Japanese that have the quality control as an art. The Chinese make it, slap it together and put it on the sales floor. It's all just a bit rushed. California Scooter Company actually runs through their deliveries and makes sure some form of quality control has been applied. That is the strong point of their company. You have done a marvelous job of working on this bike. It is sad to say all this has to be done to get the unit to a level of acceptability to ride it but you did a sensational job. The Bauer tools are good. I use them. They are affordable quality. I actually bought a generic angle grinder at Harbor Freight for $10. I got two and they are gotta haves. Thanks for the video.
nice video bro
I HIGHLY reccomend taking your front brake bracket to a machiine shop to have them clone it to a single part. There should not be that many bolts holding the caliper to the fork. Also, I'd double check the sprocket alignment just to make sure you don't need a spacer or have the rear of the counter shaft turned to align it. If just enough slack gets into the chain it WILL derail and make for a bad day. Other than that, this was an awesome mod that is shockingly easy to do!
I like it! alot!
Good build..
so cool !
Hahhahahah he said bizzarly smooth!??.. yea it's the tires.. welcome to the sport side my friend
Hey @mototaco and community. Simple question. What gauge wire and materiel do I need to make a quick jump connection on the wiring harness to hit wire it. Do you know what blade connection i need to buy
Hey, how were you able to title and register your hawk in NJ. I just bought one after watching your videos and I live in NJ too.
What Website would you recommend I use to find parts? What tools would you recommend? Just got mine yesterday and I'm waiting on it. I'm excited.
Sick build!!!!!!I really want to do this mod. I wish i could find the bearing part numbers to run the stock axle tho.
@mototaco6603

Using the stock axels would be smarter absolutely. I just got impatient and drilled through the forks and swing arm. It helped fit the rear brake I suppose too but that could be fixed with spaced if using the stock axels. I just didn’t want to get different bearings is all
Ever think about making some more of them brackets and sell them for those who’d like to do this mod? Cause I would definitely buy wouldn’t mind doing this mod to my hawk 250 well if you do let me know definitely have my attention. God bless great mod and beautiful bike by the way
Pretty sweet mod for a hawk or tbr7

What size rims and tires at those and was the modifications specifically to fit those specific wheels and tires?
What is the front fender i want a short one for mine
does the klx230sm have the correct size axles/ tires for a direct swap?
I enjoyed video and commend your resourcefùlness
Bro, im going to do the big bore kit on the 22 Venom sporter Chopper. hope it works
Why did the caliper bracket move so much when brake applied?
would you consider doing this same thing for my 2020 hawk dlx? if so how much would you charge for labor and parts included
love it G. hey man i see your DLX in the backround. any plans on modding it? im waiting on mine. just havnt seen to many modded DLXs yet.

I would take that spacer plate you made for the front brake out, and just fabricate a duplicate of the original bracket you fabricated, and use that for extra thickness throughout the bracket.
Nice.
What pod filter are you using? I put a nibbi 30mm on mine but I am having an issue with it choking out if I get into the rain. I've had to take the filter off just to make it home a couple of times.
@mototaco6603
Жыл бұрын
i prefer UNI products but they are kinda spendy. when the weather isnt 5 days a week of rain i have no probem with the micron pod filters. its funny you mention that because i did get stuck in the rain because of the pod filters before. i went to a parking lot, removed it and used the exhaust to blow the water out which bought me a few minutes to get home. the UNI foam filter will subvert this issue. I've ridden in the rain plenty of times with it and the issue wasn't replicated.
❤❤❤❤ nice
U should get custom orange decals to match the tires
How many mm is the big bore kit?
What size are the front & rear tire sizes exactly if you don’t mind me asking?
You should use locktight for your bolts to keep them on instead of wire thats what all the mechanics use theres different types of locktighr tho gota get the right kind

Yes my Hawk 250 went 50 MPH red line RPM in HWY. You should get 35 to 40 tooth rear sprocket from Combustion Cycle. It costs under $25.00 plus shipping from JT Sprocket Co. In Thailand. The Hawk 250 have rear 50 tooth 5 speed so it would not do any better than my top speed.
Whats the part # for the 13t sprocket for the 520 chain 9:08
hey do you think if i showed a motorcycle mechanic this video would they be able to do all this for me and how much would it cost?
I have street motorcycle 2022 Hawk 250. The smallest rear sprocket is made for highway. The big rear sprocket is made for dirt motocross Hawk bike. I want to buy a pair roller chain tensioner and I can belt sanding it myself. Where can I can get them the TENSIONE for it fit to the swingarm.
Did your big bore kit work out? Or did you end up doing an entire engine swap?
Hard to show just how much time and $$ goes into all that 😂 I replaced the ninja bearings with bearings that fit the stock axles. Saved me some trouble and money down the road lol. Love the video, man 👍

Love it! I'm curious how this mod affected the top speed? I would say that is one of the biggest weaknesses of these Chinese bikes. It's like they can reach 70 on a good day as long as you're not going up hill or it's not super windy. If they were just slightly more capable for the freeway it would be enough that there wouldn't be anything to complain about.
@mototaco6603

before i post a top speed review and modification, which i will. i'll tell you YES it has effected the top speed. mainly because the back sprocket is so big. i've lost about 6MPH off my top speed which was previously 70. this can be subverted with some help i've been getting from the ninja 300 forums. the biggest front sprocket i can put on is 16 tooth 520 chain, which would mimic a 17 tooth 428 fairly well. on the back im running a 45 tooth sprocket, apparently theres a website that sells 40 tooth sprockets for ninja 300 520 type chains. this should get me my top speed back. the bike is also slightly heavier because of the rims. however i can pretty much throw my spoke wrench in the trash now. so theres pro's and cons. updates to come soon

Hey Man, I love your videos! I've been binge watching them since I found your channel. I've got a question for you. I am trying to figure out if the Hawk 250 has the same clone engine as the new TemplarX 250. I was about to buy a Hawk on Amazon, the main Amazon Terminal is here in my hometown...but saw that the new TemplarX is a 6 speed. I would love to buy one and do your Super Hawk upgrade package with the 300cc jug and piston conversion, Nibi carb and exhaust I've been pouring over the different jug and piston kits on Amazon, but not really sure if any of their kits are the correct one. In 2019 I was living in Thailand and bought a new KLX230. I loved the bike but it was kind of pricey at around $4000 USD. So when I came back to America a few weeks ago, I decided to look around for a less expensive alternative for a street and trail commuter bike. But I love to mod my rides, and really thought about buying a new KLX300SM...but, dayumm!...that pricetag. Besides, I really love to mod my rides! For the price point difference I could mod the shit out of a 250 TemplarX and still have cash for bike camping gear and a few bike trips. Can you help a brother out and take a look at the TemplarX engine? Does it look the same to you? The price is only like $400.00 difference and it's a 6 speed vs' a 5sp. Thanks in advance! Keep up the good work. I love your dedication! That best friend video is the best thing on YT.
