Hawaii News Now Sunrise: Historical Battle of Nuuanu
King Kamehameha was trying to unify the Hawaiian Islands, which brought him to Oʻahu from Hawaii Island to take on King Kalanikūpule. The battle would start on the south side of Oʻahu but would quickly end up at this now scenic lookout visited by many each year.

Most people don't know that Kamehameha only pushed them to the Pali where they surrendered. They laid down their weapons he wasnt a savage like America's propaganda portrays.

Lol American propaganda. Ya lots political ground to be gained from over exaggerating. At this point it’s here say. There are families who say either are true, war is war. People died. This wasn’t some video game where you can surrender and expect to live in peace.

King Kalanikūpules People are all living West of Oahu today. Kam 1 was not full Hawaiian & never mix Royal Blood with these awesome jolly great people. OHA is now their Lending Bank to save them. RIP KAM 1...

I know because I’m the seventh grandson to Kamehameha 1 and I’m an Ali’i and I know that my seven time grandfather Kamehameha 1 and I know that my seven time grandfather Kamehameha 1 didn’t take any prisoners at all and my middle name connects to Kamehameha 1 as well and I’m Kahoali’i and it means (Friends of the chief) and I know that my seven time grandfather Kamehameha 1 is watching me because I am his seventh grandson and I’m the Special one to him and every time I go and see him across from the Iolani Palace I bow down to him and I do that every single day and I do it with my Paloa necklace around my neck and with my shirt off and I get on one knee and I bow down to him every single day and I will keep doing that every time I go visit him and I just know that he’s watching me and that I’m protecting the Land (Aina) as well and I honor my seven time grandfather Kamehameha 1
