Not to be a cynic but it feels like it’s almost obligatory for anyone semi-famous on the internet to do now. Like they’re scared to face the backlash if they don’t make some public statement. I’m glad she linked to petitions because honestly, public statements in themselves are useless. It’s only by changing our voting habits, demanding public review boards in police units and petitioning for justice in cases like that of George Floyd that we can actually make a difference. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just my view.

Nazryn H-N that’s not what i was saying, i was saying how she actually uses her platform for good rather than other influences who are not saying anything at all about it when they should to spread awareness. some people don’t even believe in climate change even though its obviously real and some people believe that being racist is okay or justified when it’s not at all, or that all lives matter when they can’t until black lives matter. that’s what i mean.

Saying "horrible stuff happens everyday much worse than the murder of George Floyd" is like saying "people's houses burn down all the time why should we care about this burning house" : because it's fucking burning to the ground currently and comments like yours are privileged and dismissive.
