The Lego adventure digital games (I think there are lots of them now, tied to popular IPs) had an element that feels similar to this. In them you're a lego version of whichever hero you are (Batman, Harry Potter, etc) in a world that's built out of lego. As you run around and explore, you often run into little piles of lego in obvious disarray, and if you get close to them there's a graphical effect to highlight that this is something to interact with. You can hold down one of your buttons to assemble whatever that pile of pieces makes. This is automated, you don't have to take each piece and put it in its correct place, your character just puts whatever it is together in a little frenzy of activity. Sometimes the thing you build will have a function, such as a springboard to let you jump to a high ledge, but often it's just a piece of the world that isn't put together, like a mailbox in the street. You get a little bit of score for building it, but for me (and I imagine this to be common among players) it's mostly just the intrinsic satisfaction of putting something right, and the small surprise of seeing what was supposed to be there.

Hey Jamey, great little video as always, but I think you may have some errors in the title and thumbnail. The title suggests it's your "favourite digital game", and the thumbnail mentions tile placement as the mechanism, not repeating things.
