Thank you for the inspiration, this is really a great card. I also watched the german video so I can tell you that her card lies flat with 8 strips because she created a spine to the base and did glue the pop-up element to the very edge of the pattered paper. The tiny strips she only needed because the butterflies would otherwise not have been visible behind the big one in the middle. Btw I found it really clever to score the whole sheet first and then cut into strips, I wouldn't have thought of that 😂

Brilliant thank you for passing this on to us. Yes I used 9. Leaving first and last empty for rainbow. I put couple little gems in the two blank ones. Card is being handed over so no issue with postage. I made the butterfly using my die . Flimsy but look delicate.

Sam, stamp with Kelly has this card too. She scored her base card twice to make a thicker fold, this might be what makes it fold out flat.

It worked! 9 strips makes the base lay flat.

Or use 4 or 5 inserts so the card opens 90 degrees. You could have a nice scene (green card on the bottom for grass and blue card on the top for the sky).

Ok …another “crafty card” for me to play with…you always make it look so easy!

Lovely card. I'm not a lover of tent fold cards, so I was wondering if you could make it with the butterflies on the other edge so that if you have your card fold on the left, when you open it the butterflies are facing you. Thanks Sam.

Thank you Sam, so much for this tutorial. I replicated it for a friend, but I put tools on the outside. I had ordered a dye from Amazon that was a tyre and it was supposed to come on Wednesday but didn’t come till Friday so I had to make my own version of water tire or a wheel looked like. The whole idea was that John and his wife Kath has been very kind to me and helped me clear 40 tires out of my garden that I used to use as flowerplanters and they do odd jobs around the house for me to, hence the tool kit. I would love to send you the pictures where shall I post them as I can’t seem to put it on here. I must tell you. He was absolutely thrilled that somebody had bothered to make something and I said how I had been inspired by your beautiful card.

I did it!!! I adapted and cut 12x10 piece Scored it at the 4-8-8 3/4-9 1/2 then cut 1” strips from that. I ended up using 10 today flat. Seemed quicker than scoring each little strip. Surprisingly easy for how complex it looks! Win win!’n

That is a very unique card. You can even put pictures on it. Look who’s coming to my party kind of invitations. Very cool. Thank you for sharing ❤

We made something along these lines in craft club. We did the letters to spell BIRTHDAY .. I can’t remember if it laid flat as it was years ago. Good to get reminders of these card styles 😊
