I have not used the Core Tackle wacky hook, but can’t wait to try it! I have used a system Zappu introduced last year, the “Zero Inch Wacky”. This bait comes in three different weights and a has a light wire guard. The hooks and weights are much lighter than Core Tackle’s offering. Matt recently posted an on the water video using the Zero Inch Wacky. There is a place in your tackle box for both 💯

Looks like you could literally do all that with a regular pitching jig. Take the skirt off and add senko for first option, option 2 leave the skirt on lol

Spent an hour using the lighter core tackle wacky hook. Love Matt’s channel and really wanted to like this hook but for me the hook-up ratio was abysmal. 5 missed fish in a row. Switched to my fav wacky-rig hook, the VMC Neko hook 1/0 with weed guard, bam, 5 fish in a row, no missed fish. Will try it again, maybe just bad luck. Oh-and the hook eye was painted closed. Not a big deal if you have an eye hook buster or whatever those things are called but I didn’t so had to sacrifice the point of another hook to clear it. That’s just bad QC

I have picked up some hover rig hooks from Core Tackle but have not used them yet. I gave up thinking a bait had to resemble something that fish usually dine on after the success of the ned rig so who knows what will work. Let us know if you get any explosive catches on those.

That’s a good question! For me, I don’t worry about how many bites a bait will last but I’m more worried about getting the bite!
