You guys are soo amazing! Loved seeing you in Nashville. You are very inspiring!! ❤️
Great music. Your tastes are quite eclectic as are mine. I love the many directions music is headed and all you listed are worthy of consumption. Looking forward to your new release as well.
Over the last year or so, I’ve been lucky enough to discover a few artists that really changed mg life. First is Irish musician Siomha and the album Infinite Space. So good, so talented and so true and honest. Number two is Hermanos Gutierrez . Two brothers with such a cinematic, sentimental longing in their music. And cool moustaches. And lastly Japanese pianist and jazz goddess, Hiromi! Completely blew me away, especially with the album Spark. Her latest album Sonic Wonderland is also just a delight. Thanks for sharing great music tips, Rob!
This is a wonderful way to find new music and experience something else. Thanks!
This is how I keep up to date, thanks Rob

Yeah she’s really phenomenal. Don’t be shy - recommend some of your favourite bands
I've been listening to a lot of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard lately. They have so many albums to listen to and boy do they ever surprise you. Garage Rock, Noise Rock, Psychedelic, Krautrock, Prog Rock, Trash Metal, Bubblegum Pop, Funk/Soul, RnB, Swamp Rock etc. My favourite albums so far are Polygondwanaland (Stunning album!), Infest The Rats' Nest, Nonagon Infinity, K.G and L.W.
Great stuff Rob! Love finding new music and fair play to you for pushing new bands/artists into the limelight!
I like this topic Rob. I’ll have to listen to other songs from these bands as nothing grabbed me immediately, but I normally need to listen to new music a few times before deciding if it’s my jam. Keep this up as we need something other than an algorithm making suggestions!
don't know if you call them new or not but I stumbled across The Warning and I tell you what it brought back memories of my youth with there style and vibe so simple yet so addicting
Great idea Rob. The Andertons videos introduced me to so many artists I otherwise wouldn't have heard of. More new music please! Get well soon Natassja too!
Love the content. As an older musician I feel I am trapped in a time warp of 80's metal & rock with the odd dally into 60s & 70s stuff. Whilst I will always love what I love, it is great to get recommendations for new music. Also, loving' that Ghost Fret.
Aarlon sounds like Bullet for My Valentine? Awesome
Very Nice selection thanks Rob

Yeah f*** ranking. Great suggestions, will check the ones I didn't know. Aaarlon are awesome. Love YEBBAs voice too. 🤘 Suggestions from my side, since you asked. Earthside, Ghost on Mars, TERRA, Neon Fields, Trope, Thom and the Wolves
HUGE props for having Yebba on your list! I'm a 58 year old (almost 59) Classic Rocker, but I've spent the last few years obsessed with her and her music.
AARLON 🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘 love the music and Pritam's voice 💥💥💥
Willow is amazing. Her NPR tiny desk is incredible.
Great content mate, you could do this like once a month or sth, giving extra exposure to worthy up and coming artists is wonderful! Also since I know you do enjoy a bit of greek, please check the band Villagers of Ioannina City, i think you'll love it, particularly the tracks Age of Aquarius, Dance of Night, Father Sun, Nova, Perdikomata
Inglorious's We Will Ride album has gotten me through a major guitar playing rut.

Good to see coverage from India.
Cardinal Black - anything by them really, but my personal favourites are "Tied up in blue", and a track I was lucky enough to be at Rockfield studios to hear recorded - "I'm ready". A band full of incredibly talented musicians and vocalists!

Aside from Inglorious (that Ive listen since they started) and Kotzen (need no explanation), I dont really bond with the other bands and music. Rob, you should check Poets of the Fall, they are a prog hard heavy band with pop elements from Finland. They are amazing!! Their singer is phenomenal.
Some old music Rob - you might already know them, but check out The Apex Theory - I have never heard harmonies and melodies change like it before. Drown Ink. Bullshed. Apossibility. I love it.
If you like Lawrence, you would probably also like Lake Street Dive!
I just found Soen, MAN I love it. Unbreakable is great, but just check out everything man!
Rob I think you would like Anna von Hausswolff - Mysterious vanishing of Electra, it's not a new song and if you know it I'm sorry, but that song is such a vibe that I think everybody should experience it.
Willow's definitely come a long way from where she began. If you're into a variety of styles in rock, then I make whatever I want under the name August Silhouette. I released a symphonic deathcore concept album last year named Follow, not like Lorna Shore though, more like Chelsea Grin or Suicide Silence but with synths and beautiful harmonies in places. I was working on a poppy progressive rock thing to release next, but it would cost money to finish the way I want it, so I've left it for now and moved onto a different project that's like kinda metalcore, but there's no screaming vocals. The idea for the album is that I want to stack like 40 vocal tracks using different vocal styles to create a giant chorus. It's an attempt to cover up my subpar vocals, save money, and still get a good product out. XD
The whole Empathogen album by Willow is fantastic, really grabbed me when that genre is not usually something that I connect with. As for other bands, Lucid Planet do a great job of marrying psychedelic prog with electronic music. Organic Hard Drive is a fantastic example of this.
Ren. You need to listen to Ren. If you want music that evokes emotion, that's it. His music and storytelling brings grown men to tears. He also does amazing stuff with his old band, The Big Push, as well as Sam Thompkins, and Chinchilla(who was recently on The Voice UK)... His music is very topical and touches on politics, money, mental health. And he beat Rick Astley to a #1 record in the UK.
BAND MAID out of Japan is phenomenal. They dress funny but they have really brought musical enjoyment back to my ears. They are mostly hard rock but dabble in many genres. Outstanding live performers. 🤘😁🤘
Not new musicians, but after many years of waiting, finally Julianne Regan and Tim Bricheno ex of All About Eve ( amongst many other great bands) have released new music. The Album is called Aperitions by Regan & Bricheno and I heartily recommend the track America
You've probably heard of them but I can't get enough of The Warning right now.
“Fearless” by Crown Lands. Came out last year. They’ve opened for Greta van Fleet and Jack White so maybe everyone knows them already, but in case you don’t…

Yep, there was a couple of bands in that list that sounded cool, and Mr Chapman, if you’ve not heard of Vilivant, I suggest you check them out, I only recently come across them via their song, Is this the end, and they did a superb rocked up version of losing my religion 👍🏻

I'm sure you know this, but maybe others don't. Willow is Will Smith's (the actor) daughter. She grew up with cool music because her mom Jada has a rock band.
Oh dude, I loved this, thank you! Some of my own suggestions; Nospun (No Spoon, from the matrix) - Earwyrm, Katie Pruitt - Expectations, Molybaron - Something Ominous, The Anchoret - It All Began With Loneliness, The Warning - Sick, Kira Mac - Scorned.

You should give Electric Alchemea is listen.
About nearly three years or so now I remember wondering what kind of heavier music was in Japan so I looked up some popular Japanese rock bands and the first one that came up was X Japan so after listening to their stuff I was instantly floored by the guitar playing and overall killer sense of musicianship (I eventually learned that their drummer also played piano, which I can now say that I share that with them because my buddy who plays drums in our band is a really good pianist as well) and taught myself to play a number of their songs, even doing their song Endless Rain for my guitar masterclass in my second year of the music program I did at college. From there I also discovered some equally killer all-female J-Rock/J-Metal bands like Raise A Suilen, Roselia and BAND-MAID and those are all absolutely awesome as well as the band Maximum the Hormone, definitely all killer bands so if anyone here wants to check out some really cool Japanese rock bands I highly recommend looking those groups all up on Spotify and/or KZread

I have now, and it didn't. It's going to take a lot more than that to change my life. I saw the Butthole Surfers live in their heyday. That was almost taking your life in your own hands, so the bar is set pretty high for me. Never mind seeing the Residents, Rush, Primus and Fishbone live at their peak. Next!

El Estepario Siberiano, Rob!!!
Right! I get to gush about new bands without getting "the eyeroll of death"! Prepare thine listening orifices! First and foremost, a shout out to my Finnish chooms: 1. Pääkallo - Kuoleman Taikaa ; It's in finnish, sure, don't care, good guitar will forever speak the universal language of edge of breakup to full fuzz. It's like Velvet Underground but groovier. 2. Old Gods Of Asgard - Herald of Darkness ; If you haven't come across this: Massive feckin' welcome, probably the coolest video game related moment in 2024, I dare you to prove me wrong! Naturally, massive spoiler for Alan Wake 2, so proceed with caution. Not saying more. Then a couple of international shout outs I've really loved recently: 3. The Native Howl - Mercy (ft. Lizzy Hale) ; What do you get when you combine bluegrass and thrash metal? You get awesome, you get bangin' fresh music like you've never heard. Right after this you'll be listening the Tarantinoesque song called Sons of Destruction from them as well, they are that bloody good. Along with Dom Martin they had me certainly going down the rabbit hole of using my Electric guitar tube amp and pedal setup with acoustic guitars, and gaining some cool results! 4. Burning Witches - Hexenhammer ; If you've aver been a fan of Iced Earth, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or hell, even Accept or Dokken, you'll just enjoy this group immensely! Black Widow, Dance With the Devil, The Dark Tower.... Nothing but great 80's guitar goodness in modern package as far as the ear can hear! Please enjoy, and let us know how you found 'em. 😉

Check out Quantum's "On The Verge" for another fantastic new song that needs some love. Great guitar work, fantastic drumming, kind of like a mix of Rush, Mastodon, and Opeth.
Crown Lands: Indigenous Canadian band of epicness. Big Rush vibes with hits of Coheed & Cambria & Zeppelin, Floyd. JJ Wilde: Getting to be massive in Canada pretty common or garden modern rock-pop but my gaaaaaaahd her voice. Raspy, sexy, epic. Shades of Joan Jett, Beth Hart, even a bit of Layne Staley.
Tylor Dory Trio . This guy has a hella voice and can twittle some strings.
Ooooft... some epic suggestions in there... I'm currently loving this cover version of SOAD's Ariels by The Scratch. Hair raisingly good - kzread.info/dash/bejne/oaGlrbxshrbThMY.html Hope you enjoy! :)
Lawrence sounds like a female Bruno Mars copy.
Not new but 1 ok rock is new to me check out “the beginning” pretty solid
Love Aarlon❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Rob, check out Madison Cunningham and Mk.gee. I think you will be quite surprised. Cheers.
None of these bands are really breaking any boundaries. They all sound a bit like someone else or something else we already heard. That is good for people who just want to be comfortable with their music and that is me most the time. But would be nice to hear something you go wow that's different. Maybe that last girl had something different than the norm but the rest seemed generic in whichever genre they are sitting.
You should check Maja Mannila's performance in Try Again by Peela 👌
Extended phrasing...
What an obscure list of "diverse" artists. 🤔 The best band to come along in the last 20 years is: LOVEBITES. 🤘🏼🐺🤘🏼 Also: WAGAKKI BAND ⛩🏯🗻 If you want something really unique... HANABIE. 🤪 Japan is the new music capitol of the world. There is a reason Marty Friedman moved there years ago. 😉
