    honestly as a black woman myself i wouldnt even bother answering these types of questions or be in videos 😐 it doesnt matter how nice you are, you'll get attacked. ive literally watched videos on here with nothing to do with racism at all but if theres a black person the comments will find a way to tie anything back to "black people always want to be a victim" "they get away with everything using the race card". i literally seen news videos where all the black person did was be a victim to some crime or really serious racism and the comments attack them with racial stereotypes or "if this happened to a white person nobody cares" its so exhausting

    그래서 저도 가게에 외국인 손님들이 오면 그냥 한국어로 먼저 얘기합니다. 동양인이 아니라고 한국어를 못할거란 편견이 그들에겐 차별이 될 수 있다는걸 어디서 봤거든요. 그럼 손님 10명 중 5명은 한국어를 구사하는 경우가 많습니다. 잠실이라 그럴수도 있습니다. 영어를 할줄 알지만 상대가 못한다고 판명이 나거나, 먼저 영어로 대답할 경우에만 영어로 안내해드립니다. 같이 일하는 직원들은 확실히 외국인이 입구에 등장하자마자 얼어붙어서 저를 멀뚱멀뚱 쳐다보고만 있습니다. 그럴때마다 가장 가까운 아무나 나가서 한국어로 먼저 응대하고, 한국어를 못한다고 하면 저를 부르라고 알려줍니다. 인식을 개선하려면 경험과 교육이 필요하고, 거기서부터 개개인의 올바른 가치관이 형성될 것 같습니다. +이태원,잠실에 있는 가게들을 방문할때와 외국인 빈도가 극히 적은 지역의 가게들을 방문할때의 직원 행동이 다를겁니다. 경험과 인식의 차이일 것 같습니다.

    @@ThheSocialThen learn English at least. As you said, Koreans don’t have time or resources to learn other languages. Since most Koreans except for some old generation can speak English, foreigners are responsible for learning English or local language. Why should we speak languages that are never used in our country? I don’t expect tourists to learn Korean since it can be difficult. But when it comes to English, it’s a different story.

    She is so dignified in giving people the benefit of the doubt. The majority of Koreans are colorists though. Beauty standards to them are very precise and the key factor is white, un”blemished “ (eg, freckles that most people think are cute) skin, small heads and thinness. So - while I agree that racism occurs in other countries, Koreans are very prone to this reaction. Even other Asians, particularly South East, with naturally tan skin coveted by many in Western countries, are considered unattractive. Despite the fact that most Koreans have the same melanin (who don’t bleach ). Plus, their beauty standard is specific to East Asia; many find the standard not becoming. Just watch global pageants (not that they’re great events, but revealing of worldwide “standards” ). Given all that, the only foreigners that many Koreans are accepting of are white. Anyway, the interviewee is beautiful and elegant by any unbiased perspective .

    @peachingu3881

    Nope. It is xenophobia though (prejudice against people from other countries). It's not subject to just one race. Sometimes it's people who are East Asian but are from China, Japan, and other EA/SEA countries. You could learn the language but a lot of native speakers from that country can tell if you're foreign by your accent and how well you speak it. It's kind of like how native English speakers from America can tell someone is from another country by their accent when they speak English. But unfortunately, sometimes South Korea and other countries that already don't have a lot of foreigners living there will be prejudiced to even people who are fully Japanese or Chinese or such. The "no foreigners" in some places are an actual thing. I remember reading "In Order to Live" which is an autobiography about a young North Korean defector (Yeonmi Park) who successfully made it over to SK. She spoke fluent Korean because she was North Korean born but when she went into a gaming cafe because she's never seen one before, the owner knew that her accent wasn't South Korean and didn't allow her in because she was a foreigner.

So idk what’s funny to you and even if I couldn’t speak Korean doesn’t mean I can’t search up accurate translations for it either way it still doesn’t take away from the fact that people are being mistreated bc of how they choose to speak I mean if that’s the case then why do us as Americans get backlash for doing it but not other countries!?

    Well, As an Indian girl myself, my skin tone is naturally very pale with natural Olive-Blue eyes and light Brown hairs. I've got such Pinkish-White complexion that most people say I look totally like a typical Jewish Israeli or a Greek. So guys, trust me when I say this, definitely NOT all the Indians are 'BROWN' in color. You'll see most North Indians being very fair in complexion but down the south they may be tanned but some southerners being fair too. We should rather celebrate this diversity, that God made us so different from one another and that's what makes us UNIQUE 🎉 P.S - All skin colors are beautiful 💖

    It's not always comfortable for black people to describe our experiences with racism because so many people immediately minimize, victim blame, or just flat out deny that it even happened. Especially Black Anericans. Trevor Noah had an amazing explanation about the difference between racism in South Africa vs. Racism in the US and he said in SA they're completely open about it, like yeah it's racist, that's the point. But in America we're used to people being sneaky about it and then shaming us into silence if we mention our race. He said, "There's something liberating about fighting an obvious enemy as oppose to one you have to prove exists."

I have been to France and Switzerland. Dont know French or German. Dont remember a single incident where I was discriminated. Nor I was asked ri speak in their language.

    Here's why racism in Korean became broader, and why they targeting south east asian citizens like, Thailand Vietnam and the Philippines, these nation has something to do with political issues like Vietnam and the Philippines in the south china sea and Thailand not giving to the Chinese its proposed a hundred kilometers of canal inside Thailand. The conspiracy of which is to promote hatred among Koreans against these countries and it's citizens perpetrated by chinese propaganda which fit the korean mindset into looking down these people. Hatred became profound when issues with these countries has been growing due territorial sea issues. China uses the same tactics promoting hate among Filipinos working in taiwan and in Singapore which is predominantly chinese, but the Chinese propaganda back fired when taiwanese didn't pay attention to the same hate conspiracy against south east asian citizens. On the other hand, research shows that hatred and racism in Singaporean is now brewing against their south east asian neighbors. If you study when racism grows in Korea, against Vietnam and the Philippines, but not in Japan, Taiwan or India for that matter because the Philippines and Vietnam are standing up to chinas aggression in south china sea at the same time south east asian citizens specifically Filipinos experienced broad racism in Taiwan but it did not prosper. Those Korean who hated the south east asian citizens has something to do with their race and ethnicity .. they are Chinese with Korean citizenship. Chinese propaganda pretending to be Korean's...
