It leaves no escape for residual temsion. This design means under the right stress factors that bearing is going to fail. Get a degree before you get an opinion

most bearings are designed to have all the balls put in place just like at the start, with the inner race off center, then a cage holds them even spaced between the races, keeping them concentric. No hammering needed.

@@melonlab80 you want ball-bearings to be as smooth and round as possible the better the easier they glide. When a bearing gets hit at the minimum will cause mirco dents or worse noticeable dents causing it to have more resistance due to increased friction from dents cause excess wear and noise.

По моему это нужно делать или через мягкую железку вроде латуни или меди или через деревяшку чтобы не деформировать шарик стальным молотком. А вообще на подшипника есть шипы которые позволяют избежать вдавливания шариков через прорези и уменьшает их число в подшипнике

Smart to use a tin hammer so as to not dent the bearings. Either tin or something else softer than the steel. I watched it a couple times and didn't see any damage from the hammer.

Bearing balls are some of the hardest steel items made. Probably won't scratch or deform from this process. That said, buying a new bearing from SKF is probably cheaper than this primitive technique. Unless you're Russian, then you can't because Putin decided to make enemies.

Wrong process, you can't hit the balls even some micron deviation in the size by hitting this wasy to multiple balls will reduce life of bearing to 40 to 65%

@@arianamitchel2337 ok that's your opinion I guess but a rubber mallet wouldnt be able to get it thru so easily because it is rubber and all the necessary components are still there and functional. So with limited equipment I think he did a good job. I don't think a rubber mallet is the solution
