I have been watching this for awhile. Steve and many others including myself love to hear your native languages and see traditional clothing. Speak a little native language for us. Your languages are so interesting and powerful.

The only reason Steve is making fun of African accents is because Americans delude themselves that they are speaking proper/correct English, like English is an American language. Lol. The only people with the right accent when it comes to English are people who have Queens British accent. So the joke is on Steve 🤣

My dear Sistah, though I see your point, I ask that you do not generalize about all African Americans and how we deal with African accents. Steve Harvey is a comedian and therefore makes light of many accents and speech patterns - not just South Africans. We Black Americans do not speak the Queens high English and neither do most immigrants and working class people in the UK. Our use of the English language is commonly referred to as Ebonics. I see his presence in South Africa as a way of bridging some of the gaps between our two cultures. He gives high Praise to the extremely high levels of intelligence of the contestants. I know he is proud. I know this has had a strong impact upon many Black Americans who have been led to believe that all African people are lesser in intelligence. I for one am Grateful for the opportunity to see, hear and experience my South African sisters and brothers clear across the globe. I am only one person and I say Amandla!
