Have you been inside Phoenix's forgotten underground bus station?
There's a hidden third tunnel under Margaret T. Hance Park that's been unused for decades.

Native to AZ and I can remember when they built park tunnel and connected I -10 to Phoenix. Before tunnel you had to take Van Buren or Buckeye Rd west about 10 miles to connect with I -10 to get to California. When I was a kid I -17 was the only freeway in Phoenix. It was two lanes north and south bound with orange tree in middle of freeway as a protective barrier, now they use concrete walls, lol.

I-10 was built to 27th avenue or thereabouts and opened early in 1984. The 'Stack' interchange and the section between there and east Phoenix (at the I-17 'split') was the only part of I-10 nationwide that had not been completed - that stretch of I-10 including the Deck Park Tunnel was opened to traffic on August 10, 1990, completing the nationwide interstate.

My father had what you would essentially call a "key to the city". Unfortunately, I cannot divulge any more information as to the whereabouts of these subterranean locations. Many of which are closely guarded secrets that should and shall remain a secret for the foreseeable future. Sadly, we just cannot trust the public anymore. Stay classy my friends.

It could be a good idea but there'd still need to be a lot of work done to have it ready and safe, plus a way to get them and workers down there safely. I doubt it'll ever happen.
Very interesting 👌. Valley of the sun 🌞
I remember being told about this as a kid
Very cool.
They might as well turn it into the bus depot it was supposed to be.
Is it possible to break through the tunnel walls and add another lane or two? The tunnel itself is so outdated and undersized now
Now all of the drug addicted tent dwellers will start living in there... should have kept it a secret...
I can dir in peace now
Well we’re not even allowed to go in it so how would we even go in ??
So that’s where all the zombies went
They should have a drive thur Starbucks there. Alot of people dont have time for Starbucks in the morning cause all the traffic, now imagine getting it while on the freeway. And a passthur if the line is too long and you dont wanna wait
Interesting.. thxs!
I been through the deck tunnel
Interesting 🤔
Hopefully they locked out the fan before going in front of it!! The fans are likely activated if level of CO in tunnel gets too high, also (in addition to other reasons given).
Wow I’m a native and I’ve always seen this and knew there was something hiding back there.
I forgot about this.
Unfortunately things did not turn out the way the politicians wanted it or ADOT but it cost the taxpayers it is wasted area it's really unfortunate
Waste of money.
Native to Arizona the underground tunnels, caves, homes, etc., especially in Phoenix are something else.

Yes, I remember the sign.
One thing missing, where were the escalators supposed to come out on top?
My first thought was “my motorcycle will fit though those cones 😂
I remember going there as a kid lol
and i gotta skate in the mf sun 🙃
It would be perfect as a light rail station
If we ever get an electric vehicle with an interchangeable battery packs, could turn it into a battery swapping station
SECRET TUNNEL!!
Lol always wondered where that went.
They should use it for a drive thru Starbucks.
its obviously used to store construction equipment.

Should shoot movie seens, seems, money on cop action shows.
Damm Doug got old.
Ending of this video with the newscasters was so cringey 🫠
technically the deck park tunnel isn't a tunnel. it's a bridge.

Technically it isn't a bridge, it's 17 bridges side-by-side.
I am surprised it isn't full of homeless people
Put homeless housing in the tunnel
I notice you didn't cover how much that building mistake cost taxpayers.
street racing?
Starbucks and bookstore
this isnt news its olds
Kari Lake
Homeless camps could use that space
Phoenix has a rather large complex of underground facilities that often go unnoticed. I was privileged enough to witness these many of these locations first hand as a small boy.

No, now that it has been discovered during Halloween time it will turn into a spirit Halloween because they pop up everywhere
