I think he's long prepared for this time and moment, we're only just getting to hear him. That explains the many hits he's been churning out in such a record time. Of course, riding on the back of Olamide is the game changer for Asake. Great guy! 🥰

Asake is a whole case, the guy can switch in different style well Blended, I agree with his analysis . He sings well has vibes and style. He is a Nigerian same time Jamaican , that church scene in bandana was soooo Jamaican gangster mehn. Asake must hire good vocalist like burna boy has, that is what I miss in his live performances, the band must be changed completely. Much love asake

I disagree that Palazzo was the biggest. I think ‘Omo Ope’ ft Olamide announced the arrival of a star and ‘Sungba’ consolidated his profile. Palazzo was a solo (not discounting DJ Spinnal) that confirmed that he didn’t ride on the stars to get the fame- he literally came to stay! Palazzo was first recorded 2 years ago, why didn’t it blow then? Not sure if it was published then though but I doubt it would have blown. The original recording is on KZread before Spinall did a spin on the beat/arrangement. Overall, Asake flourished because of his style of having the unique hooks by crowded backup voices. Watch other artists copy it. He is although right about the comparison with Kiss Daniel in terms of trajectory to fame , with respect to time. The closest are Lil’Kesh, Naira Marley and DaGrin.

How will you compare Asake to the likes of the legend you mention,.. tone down your praises about him and let his longevity in consistency speak for him. Music is an unpredictable commodity in terms of sales and consumption, the best analyst can’t forecast as precise as it will be so please tell us what we don’t know about Asake than comparing him to Davido & Wizkid etc Asake is good, he can be better but never bring him in same conversation with the best, even that you made this video longer than the usual tells me you personally know Asake than every other artist you’ve spoken about.. please don’t sell us Asake image just analyze and move on and that’s what I respect your show for so this shouldn’t be an exception.

@bizzy Chris. You're absolutely right. Asake is good but his music is limited to Nigeria and African countries that consume Afrobeats. Davido, Wizkid and Burna have toned down the traditional side of afrobeats to make it crossover. Asake might not crossover if his sound is not evolving over time. Understand why kizz Daniel always had hits but never had a collaboration with any international western Superstar. The music is produced for the Nigerian demographics only and that's where their problem is. In the US, Tems, Wiz and Davido are being played in clubs and radios, try to understand why... After Buga loses fire, you will see kizz Daniel disappear again....Asake is on the same path... Best example is Zlatan... Is he still hot like when he first came out?

I’m referring to this episode on how he’s dropping Flowers on Asake feet this early, that might be a pressure to him to replicate same sounds if this comparison and praises gets way too much. Only saying you guys should tone down the praises and make him grow organically, outside Nigeria Asake isn’t yet a name most Nigerian music lover knows so he still have a long way to go.

However, as music career and being consistent over time is concerned, I strongly doubt that he has it in him to break that top 5 ceiling in the Nigerian industry in the coming years.
