Nice presentation Peter. Forecasting has not changed a lot since earlier times as you only need look at the change in a 7 day forecast from the BOM as you clock through to the seventh day of the original guess.

Up until Cyclone Tracey proved them wrong, the seniors at the Darwin BOM were adamant that the city's unusual topography precluded any chance of a cyclone striking the city!

Bom website says we have had less cyclones in qld in the past 20years
I live in New Orleans and I say, no they haven’t gotten worse in nature. HARP is making them worse

No, but the media hype made possible by the internet and snazzy graphics packages have . Were we once listen to the 7pm news on ABC radio each evening now (when the ABC had some gravitas) now TV re-runs the same hysteria multiple times starting around 5pm and regurgitating until at least 7 pm and usualy babbled over by a child not long out of "journalism"" school. Similar deal with "heat waves". It seems there are now multiple categories of heat wave Are heat waves increasing? Hell yeah. Another lurid colour added to the temp graphics adds to the alarmist.
What tosh. The usual confirmation bias masquerading as analysis.
