Of the last few seasons, this is the episode I enjoyed the most. Other episodes were better regarding content, but there's genuinely none that I simply enjoy watching as much as this one with Aisling and Roisin.

to answer aisling's question at about 20:56, yes, there is a class in political science (at UMass Amherst, I don't know about Eton) in how to write meaningless sentences as practice for answering questions without answering them. I had a roommate in college who took that class, I saw the meaningless homework worksheet that he was working on and he is now a local politician.

I agree with Charles. I usually love her but that braying laugh is something new and I don't like her hair.

Honestly Aisling was the most lively person on the show in a while, and I think she managed to actually spark some life into the others as well.

Extended episode on a Saturday, That works great for me because I talk to people on Sunday who often mention HIGNFY. Good to have Aisling and Roisin on. I don't think I've seen either of them for a few years. And they didn't mention Trump. First time this season. I was wondering how long it would take them to get over him. Boris seems to fill that vacuum quite nicely.

I love HIGNY, and i’m American. I don’t think that I’m only enchanted by the accents, as enchanting as they are. And i’m a big fan of Aisling, but she’s of course only hosting this episode, so she’s not a selling point for the show as a whole. I think it’s the “panel of smart-asses who’ve actually paid attention to the news” format that really makes this show special. So my question is: Is there an American show like this that i’ve been missing? Tough Crowd came close-ish, but what about now? The “comedic current-events panel show” seems to be peculiarly British, but maybe i’m missing an example…?

Assuming the headline grabbing £50 per pupil is true. £1.5 billion / £50/pupil = 30mil pupils. Total *UK* population = 70 mil Can the assumption be true?

Yeah, It really dragged, and a lot of Aisling's lines got no response at all. Not up to their usual standards.

Oh no. Aisling just said, 'thunk' instead of 'thought' but at least she said, 'people WHO' and not 'people that'!

After this show I think HIGNFY has had its day. Very sad

One of the worst episodes.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?

Aisling Bea, the possibly most annoying person on TV because she can never play it straight and always have to overdo it and worse, insert herself into other people's jokes.
