Great video! Wish I was walking there. My next hiking trip I need to take parasol too. Last May I was walking from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald to Interlaken. My face was all burn from the sun.

Hanging on those ladders looked fun, how far up did they go? Also may I ask, is it possible to hike on this route for a day or two and bring your own camping gear instead of going hut to hut?

papatooth1 Hello Yes you can walk only a small part, Sleep at two nights in the mountain thus walk 3 days Possible to make 2 days but it will be necessary to walk long distances You can also sleep in the mountain But, it is necessary to carry everything

The ladders are no longer there as they were, as of end of July 2014. As I recall them they were about 80 feet high. Now the ladders are much shorter and there are walk ways with guard cable going across to the next set of shorter ladders, kind of zigzagging up to the pass that is called pas de chèvres, between cabane des Dix and Arolla.

You do not need a guide unless you are blind. And then you don't see the views anyway. I've been all through the region by myself with a poor version of the French language in 1982, but of course I could speak enough to be considered English and not "American". Never wear T shirts with U.S. logos on them, it's insulting to the French.
