Oh nasty

Using the camera angles was good, I wouldn't rely too heavily on jumpscares since they're so heavily critiqued. Like the cliche' jumpscare ending.. Other than that, the piano playing in response to the question, but not overdoing it, was a nice touch and the spirit walking by during the conversation. Seeing the figure standing far away. Gradual things like that that built up during the story were very nicely done. Keep up the good work! :)

Out of the last 10 or 12 videos I've seen this one is easily in the top three best of them. Good acting. Great subtle scary parts...

that was amazing. As an amateur filmmaker myself I feel I learned a lot from this about proper pacing. I love how much restraint was shown and didnt just do an ear ripping jump scare but a jumpscare that scared you more so with the character before the actual big moment. Brilliant

I know I'm repeating what other commenters have already said but when i first started watching i LEGIT thought i was watching an old VHS tape from 1997! The "crap quality" of the 1990s looked mad awesome! I did get suspicious with the "static" thing being used to transition between scenes and the time and date stamp was a bit overdone but those are literally my only points of criticism! I don't know how i found the ovaries to watch this at night alone at home! But i thought it was an interesting film!

This is one of the best foundfootage ive seen so far!

This is better than some movies that actually have like 20,000,000$. Great acting, the scares were okay, but I think the best part was the story.. It's not like most horror films that ONLY have jumpscares, and they shove it in your face. Most of the scares were subtle, like the chairs, the piano, and especially the rocking chair. My only criticism is the ending. The ghost (or demon) looked weird. You could have done maybe a kid hanging from the roof? But besides that this was great.

You could teach a thing or two to 80% of the found footage film crews whose movies are featured on Amazon Prime. To make matters even worse, its usually for an additional rental fee on top of the monthly subscription price to be a Prime member. Between that issue & all the fake 5 star movie reviews from family, friends & people connected to the movies in general, is the main reason I came here instead!! Thanks for sharing your time, talent & creativity with the rest of us for our viewing entertainment.💀👻☠👿👽

I don't believe a gray area exists for this horror sub genre. VERY well done! Good acting, especially. I don't think it would have hurt anything to have used a mini-DV camcorder so that we could see a bit better. Obviously, the demon-thing at the end was a bit problematic, but a better image would have been okay, even so.

This was pretty good, dude. I like the story line!! If there was one thing I'd change, it would be the jumpscares. I would personally add some more sound effects to really scare the mess out of people! The attire and ya'lls acting was very good!! I assume you used the VHS app for your phone, right? It looked very similar to it, nonetheless. Also, check out our found footage horror film and let me know what you think! I used Red Giant's Universe software to give mine the "90s" VHS look. Cheers!

Gallen Bros Entertainment If you want feed back, then A:actors were brilliant, b:camera worked perfectly, c: the moment in the hallway didn't require the masked figure, just an unseen humanoid shape would have been as good and not damaged the final scare. D: the final scare was a little bit weak in the cgi, but the concept was perfect... E:if you ever translate this into a longer version, keep the creepy going at the same rate, but maybe move the story a bit away from Jimmy, the final scare suggests a demon possession case

Debra Hildreth scary shorts on KZread? Or feature length films? In either case that's kind of a loaded question. Mostly because I'd wager it's all preference. There are so many people who might argue that THE EVIL DEAD (original or remake) - for instance - was terrifying and a great film whereas I didn't much care for the film and wasn't at all affected by it. Additionally, some people feel satisfied with feeling scared even if the plot is garbage and other folks feel like practical or natural tension is more terrifying than say a supernatural threat. I might suggest looking into some of the foreign (Italian, French, Spanish) options found in many different top 10-100 scary movies lists throughout the internet. They are usually much more different from traditional American horror movie fare and may be what you're looking for... something outright 'different' or 'unique'. Good luck! And if you discover something that knocks you on your ass with terror be sure and let us know!

Plague Doctor we filmed the short on our iPhones using an app called VHS Cam. Post production was pretty easy haha
